Demand more from your razor — performance, pampering hydration and then some
In the past I had tried a few other razors with built-in moisturizing strips that promise smooth shaves, but either the moisturizer irritates my skin (to the point of red welty/hives & I don't have sensitive skin or known allergies so that was very unusual), or are not moisturizing enough leaving me with razor burn. The Schick Hydrosilk changed that. The handle was very ergonomic with good grip & fit well into my hand. The head maneuvered well & I didn't have any issues with not being able to shave at different angles. The disposable heads were very easy to change & are quite reasonably priced. What really made me enjoy using this was that the moisturizing strip was enough to use on it's own. I didn't have to use any messy shaving gels or creams. On it's own, One time I shaved my legs & put on shorts and headed to the gym -yes, soon after a shower, no foresight on my part- forgetting to use lotion. I didn't realize until I was already on the bike that I forgot lotion. This effect only lasts for a couple hours after the shower & then the skin starts to feel & look dry, but it's very nice that it helps keep moisture in the skin. The only negative factor, is that the moisturizing strip wears away quite quickly & it wears unevenly. This can change the way that it glides on the skin. I thought that the blades were dull after only a few shaves, but it was the moisturizing strip that was partly worn away & the remaining bits were scratchy. It was an easy fix- I just scraped off the remaining bits & got a few more smooth shaves. It's not enough to put me off buying it because I did really like how moisturizing it was at first & it was fine after, but it's more fuss than I would have wanted & did require the use of extra shaving products near the end of it's life. Overall, I think this is a great product & I have personally recommended it to my family and friends as well as repurchase the product myself.
