Family and friends Pure Madness tasting with Bzz Materials: Sea Salt Caramel: One said it was "yummy" and she loved the salt and caramel combo saying that she has had something like this before but the salt is better on this truffle. She wished I had a whole box them (and so did i).Another said that the caramel is "good" but not creamy and wasn't like the kind of caramel he prefers which is more "gooey" and "fluid" and that this wasn't very "creamy". Chili Lime: One said that it made her mouth "tingle" and then she noticed more of a "burst of hotness" but that she didn't really taste any lime. She did say that she likes the combination of chili and lime and wished she could find this flavor available in more brands. Another said that he thought it had a "sour" flavor and then it was "really warm for a second". He said it was different from other chocolates he's had but good. Espresso: He said that it was "really rich" and that "the flavors go well together" and the other said that if it tasted "more like coffee" she would like it more. Vanilla: She said that it is "sweet" but "waxy" and that the "vanilla taste needs improvement". Another said that she liked the chocolate shell over the top of the vanilla and thinks the 2 flavors "gives it a unique taste" but she'd also like an all vanilla truffle. Raspberry: He said "I taste something...like a very light raspberry" but wasn't impressed with the "barely there" flavor. Another person couldn't detect the raspberry, only the chocolate and she said, "the chocolate is pretty good" but really loves raspberries so she was disappointed. Dark Chocolate: She said that it's "not as rich" as she had hoped. Another said that she thought it was "tasty" and would be good for those times you need "chocolate chocolate" Milk Chocolate: He said that it's "stale" and "dry" and "doesn't taste like milk chocolate". Another guy said that "this hardly tastes like chocolate". Hazelnut: She said that it's "smooth and delicate" but that the flavor was not strong enough. Another said, that if he wanted hazelnut that "Nutella is much better", but they agreed that it wasn't a bad tasting chocolate. Rum Raisin: One thought that it tasted "artificial" and he would know because he loves rum. Another said, "what rum?" because she said she could hardly detect any. The raisin was a nice touch and the same person said it had the most flavor "because it's real" in a response basically to the other person who said this variety was artificial. Espresso Chocolate Bar: Some of the comments I received were, "outrageous", "I need another piece to make sure I like it", "I love that it has coffee pieces", "I really love this with coffee" (she dipped it a few times and took a bite and then let it melt on her tongue), that it's "one of the best chocolates I've ever had", "super amazing", "so rich and just wow" and also that she could have 1 or 2 pieces and it would "settle" her need for chocolate but that she could eat more than that... But, then, she also read the nutrition info and her eyes opened wide when she saw that this bar had 3 servings that were 180 calories and 15 grams of fat each. She's like, "I would get so fat" but it's still just "so GOOD". Everyone was happy that they were real ingredients but not happy with the high cost/ship and said they'd rather buy it in stores. Two wanted coupons but doubted they'd be able to use it "before it expires".
I was talking with my sister on the phone the other day about Mother's Day and just catching up on past family events. She was with me at Easter when we were with my aunt and her family and some other cousins. We had taken the box of truffles up to the family gathering to share, but we had saved the chocolate bar included in the bzzkit for our own personal consumption. We were disappointed in the truffles (a lot of built-up and expectations that they'd live up to the awesome descriptions which unfortunately fell short ... in everyone's opinion, the chocolate was good but the fillings were bland). Between the disappointment in the boxed truffles and all the other food we had eaten and all the other activities of that day and the next, we had completely forgotten about the chocolate bar in the bzzkit! I was clearing of my table the other week and was unpacking the bag I had brought back from my mom's and I discovered the chocolate bar! I had just finished a conversation with another friend about non-stress eating .. and ... AH .. there was that chocolate bar begging me to relieve some stress! So, I told my sister that I had opened the bar of chocolate and had some bites ... and then some more ... and then some more ... and then some more ... and ALAS ... the chocolate bar was NO MORE! I told her that the chocolate bar was actually REALLY good. We both discussed that the quality of the chocolate was not the issue on the truffles but that it overwhelmed the taste of the truffles (making the filling seem bland). I mentioned the other flavors that I had read about and she and I both felt that the milk chocolate macadamia bar sounded like a delicious escape to a tropical moment. I mentioned that I still had some discount coupons available, so maybe I can order some of those bars and ship them to her for a late Mother's Day present. I'm hoping the shipping is less expensive than the bars. I may have missed the shipping deadline for the EXTRA shipping charge that I just read about .. but I'm hoping not.
Last weekend (5/4/2013), my husband had two few friends over before they went to see Iron Man 3. (Three adult 30-something males giddy about a movie - makes me laugh.) I let the guys split my Pure Madness Solid Espresso Chocolate Bar. One of the friends passed - not a fan of coffee. My husband and his friend, Travis, indulged and wound up splitting the entire bar. Quotes included, "holy crap" and "wow". I finally reigned them in to give me descriptive information and got "unique - never had anything like it" from Travis and "melts in my mouth but the tiny coffee grounds give it crunch" from my husband. You've rocked a great product with this product Pure Madness. (And I wouldn't be surprised if you got two new BzzAgents soon. The guys were pretty intrigued.)
I shared my Pure Madnress with my family! Here are their reactions: husband-He thinks the packaging is "sexy"-like something he should be hiding from his wife! He was waiting for the naked lady to piop out of the packaging because it seemed secretive to open. He first tried the truffle. He thinks it tastes like diet chocolate would if he ever tried diet. He also said that it left an aftertaste & he needed a drink after eating it.. He next tried the candy bar. He did not think that the chocolate had the scent of real chocolate. He said that the bar was not as good as a Hershey bar or Nestle Crunch. He felt like he needed to drink a gallon of water after eating it. He was not a big fan & will not be buying it in the future. 13 year old daughter- She reported back that the packaging looks expensive & she wanted to have the part of the packaging that looks like black lace when the chocolates are gone! She felt that the box looked like it would contain perfumre. She said that it would be a good print for duct tape, but that it is too decorative for food like chocolate. . She said that the chocolate part of the truffle tasted like any other chocolate. She would eat more if it were sitting on a table & she walked by. She next tried the candy bar. She thought the packaging was creepy & made her associate w/ eyes, not chocoolate! She said that sea salt on chocolate is gross. It made all of her chocolate taste like salt. 12 year old son- The truffle had great "wrapping" on the box & he liked the way that it looked. The truffle tasted average to him & he could take it or leave it in the future. He liked the bar and said that it tasted good and that it was chewy which is good. He does not normally like nuts, but the nuts were ok in the candy bar because the pieces were so small. 10 year old son-He said that the wrapper was cool! The truffle tasted amazing to him because it wa so very rich. The inside of the truffle tasted good also. He loved the candy bar at first then it was just okay. He felt that it was too goey after a while of eating it.
I am getting married and had an appointment to look at bridal gowns. My maids were coming over for the appointment and I thought it would be fun to start the day off with a little chocolate and champagne. I set up the table with the Pure Madness truffles, coupons and the brochure. My girls LOVED the packaging. They thought it was very modern and chic. When we opened the box, we were slightly disappointed. The package is designed to keep all the truffles upright and in their spot, but when we opened the box the truffles had rolled around and we just not in the box right. It may have been because this was shipped from Bzzagent and not directly from Pure Madness so we tried to overlook that issue. The second problem we had was that it was kind of hard to figure out what truffle was what. The descriptions don’t have pictures so you have to kind of guess what you think the flavor looked like. A few of us guessed incorrectly and did not get the one we wanted. Flavor wise the girls thought the chocolate was nice, but nothing remarkable. Raspberry and Sea Salt and Caramel were the favorites. KW really liked the raspberry a lot. She thought the raspberry really popped. JS loves anything sea salt and caramel and thought this was as good as any she has had. But the general consensus was that it would be better at about half the price. The chocolate flavor just isn’t there and the fillings are not that unique. Chili lime was a big let down. KV was expecting to be wowed, but said it really didn’t taste like much of anything. Overall we all felt that the packaging was the best part of the product. It has a very cool “Sex and the City” kind of vibe. Sadly though the best part of chocolate shouldn’t be the box.
I tried very one of the Pure Madness truffles and the Hawaiian chocolate bar. I spoke to co-workers and neighbors concerning both products. First I will start with the truffles. I told my co-workers that they were delicious and that there were none left to share. I told them that they tasted less artificial than Godiva and I compared them to Neuhaus Chocolates. I told them that the truffles were rich and creamy. Especially the dark chocolate. They asked about the price, and I told them that they were less money than Godiva chocolates and gave them the website to see the prices. My neighbor actually took in the Pure Madness box for me as the delivery man left the box on my door step. So it was a great opportunity to buzz about the box that she took in for me. As far as the Hawaiian Chocolate bar, I told my neighbor, yes that package you took in for me was a box of chocolates. Her eyes were wide and could see the curiosity set is. I told her that I am a bzzagent and they send me products to try. She asked me about the chocolates and I discussed the Hawaiian candy bar. I told her that I love dark chocolate, but they sent me a milk chocolate bar that had coconut pieces and hazelnuts in every bite. Really she said, then asked if they were sold in the supermarket. I told her not yet and gave her the online website and code for the 15% discount. She also stated that she would check out BzzAgent herself!
I had a dinner party on Friday, April 12th. My friends Bill, Nathalie, Joe, Pam, Yvon, Linda, Lee & Murray were over, and my husband Lance was there. I saved the truffles for an after-dinner treat. Classic - a decent milk chocolate, but not an absolute favorite (Pam) Chili Lime - a nice combination, a little different, good (Lance) Vanilla - boring (Joe) Sea Salt Caramel - doesn't stack up to other Sea Salt Caramels they've tried (Lee) Hazelnut - a mild hazelnut, not bitter. (Murray) Raspberry - a little bit of a fruity bite. (Linda) Rum Raisin- didn't taste like rum raisin to the person who tried it. Espresso - good, rich mocha flavor.(Yvon) Dark Classic - a decent dark chocolate. Bill) Most liked them, but felt that they didn't compare favorably with other offerings. Nathalie suggested that they should be a more interesting shape, which is funny, because the shape really has nothing to do with taste. I gave everyone the opportunity to take the 15% off coupons.Joe asked "so how much is a set like that?" I told him 9 pieces are 27.00 and there are also shipping charges, and during warm months (May - October) they charge an additional $10.00 for ice packs. Pam, Joe's wife, remarked "I can pick up a 12 pack at Jacques Torres, in a nicer box, with prettier shapes, for less and I wouldn't have to pay for shipping." I argued that she'd have to pay the toll but she said she's always in New York, so that wouldn't matter. All in all I don't think they're motivated to buy, which is a shame, but at least it sparked some conversation.
I talked to my family about Pure Madness Chocolate on Easter! I took the remaining box of truffles (I finished off a few myself) to my Grandmother's house for Easter! I told the kids about the program too (they all want to be buzzagents now), they want to know if there's an age limit! Anyway, I only let the adults try the chocolate since the kids had all their Easter candy. I explained that the chocolate is from Belgium and is of the highest quality ingredients. I explained that Pure Madness Chocolate truffles had new innovative flavors and everyone was excited to try them. My Uncle lots spicy and thought the chili line would be right up his alley. He said it was good, but he couldn't taste any of the ingredients that it mentioned. My 94 year old grandmother tried the Rasberry one and said while it was good chocolate that she can't believe people would pay $29 for that little box of truffles. So everyone did enjoy them because as they said "it is chocolate", but none of them were impressed with the unique flavor concoctions. The concensus was that the flavors weren't strong enough. I ate the expresso truffle and caramel and sea salt one before I went to my Grandmas, and I thought they were delicious and flavor filled and exactly as they were described in the booklet. I guess I got the tastiest of the bunch! My grandma loved the coconut sea salt Hawaiian bar though!
I bought a box of truffles for my friends birthday and she is hooked. She shared it with her husband and her two kids and now they are all fans too. She was telling me the reson she liked these particular truffles so much is that they are velvety smooth, melt in your mouth, are not overly sweet and have very deep rich flavors. Her husband is a fan of the chili lime. He said its a very manly flavor lol. The kids liked the hazelnut and chocolate. I have to agree with my friend. These are some of the best truffles out there and they are very reasonably priced too. I plan on buying these as birthday presents from now on.
I gave out 15% off coupons for Pure Madness Chocolate to some friends recently. I let them try a truffle from the box I received through BzzAgent. Girls love free chocolate, so the samples were a hit. I told them the box of 9 was $27.00 on the website plus applicable shipping and taxes. I told about the other products offered by Pure Madness Chocolate also including, bars, sipping chocolate, toffee, and the chocolate club. I also told them that the truffle I enjoyed the most was the chili lime. My friends tried the dark classic, hazelnut, and raspberry. They all said they liked them and would check out the website. They liked the dark classic a lot, it seemed. They also liked the packaging. They said the box looked chic and stylist. I told them it would make a great gift package!
