I love any kind of Greek yogurt so I was especially pleased when I had the chance to sign up for this campaign. I went right to our local Fred Maeyer with my gift card and coupons but had a hard time finding any of the Carb Master products.. seems they either sold out or decided this area didnt do well for that product. Anyway they were down to 'seeds and stems' so I got what I could.. I was also dissappointed they had no Carb Master milk as I was looking forward to trying that! The flavors I got were what I wanted anyway and I got some new ones to try as well. My first impression was that they werent as thick as some of the Greek Yogurts I have had in the past..but the blueberry (which I had this morning) was very creamy and had a great flavor. I wanted some non fat plain to cook with but of course they were out of that as well! I am looking forward to trying the milk.. so I will go back next week to check what they have. I am also looking forward to trying the other flavors but its hard not to open each carton I bought and sample them right now!
Today I tried the Kroger Greek honey flavored yogurt in a smoothie with strawberries and almond milk. I was a little disappointed in its texture. The taste was okay. Today for lunch I will be trying a different flavor on its own. Perhaps its better to eat it solo.
So far I have only tried the Kroger Blackberry CARBmaster Yogurt. I'm not fond of it, the texture was a little gritty. I am used to Yoplait yogurt and their yogurt is smooth without stirring it. After stirring the Kroger Blackberry, a lot, the texture was finally smooth, but it was a little bitter. After mixing it with a Vanilla Yoplait, I liked it, but I doubt I will buy this flavor again.
This morning I decided to start my morning off with a Blackberry smoothie. I was skeptical that it would taste funny with Greek yogurt because usually I don't like the "tang" that some Greek yogurts have, but I decided to mix it with the Kroger Strawberry Greek Lite yogurt. I added blackberries, bananas, and a little orange juice and I was pleasantly surprised. The yogurt was thinner than I had expected because other greek yogurts tend to be much thicker, but it was very creamy and flavorful without the "tang". The smoothie ended up a little sweeter than I had liked, so next time, I think I will try just the yogurt with some fresh fruit, but overall for the price this wasn't a bad yogurt to make smoothies.
SO excited about the CARBmaster milk! Low carb/sugar, no fat, and super high in protein! Perfect when you are watching your weight!!! It fits into my macros which is phenomenal!!! The price is a little high, but for something I do not use daily, it is acceptable.
I was never a fan of yogurt due to what I perceive as a funky aftertaste. About 3 years ago, I started getting into Greek varieties, such as Oikos and Chobani. They are smoother and do not have the aftertaste of the non-Greek kind. I was excited to join this campaign, and I used the "Buy 3, get one free" coupons for the Kroger brand. To me, it has the old aftertaste and a slightly gritty mouthfeel. I will not be buying it after my other 3 cups are gone.
The yogurt is only 60 calories, but you feel like you are eating more. I had the Carbmaster Vanilla. I thought it tasted a little "artificial" and the texture was a bit thin for my taste. My next yogurt is the greek and the greek lite. I expect these to be more to my liking. I didn't think the Carbmaster was bad, but I'm used to greek yogurt. I would probably buy it again because it is so low in calories, and it's like a dessert!
Kroger CARBmaster Greek yogurts are delicious, and readily available at my local Fred Meyer. Tried blackberry and it was amazing. Highly recommended!
I wasn't sure how I was going to feel at first, when I licked the stuff off of the foil - it seemed a little too sweet. By the end of the cup, I found myself a little bummed that there wasn't more in there! The CARBmaster yogurt is delicious! Definitely something we will have to keep in the morning lineup!
Im so happy to be a part of the yogurt campaign.I eat greek yogurt alot.Besides being good for you,its a nice snack to curb your appetite before dinner.I also put sunflowers seeds in my yogurt for added taste and crunch.I am a drinker love my wine,if i over indulge i eat yogurt in the morning its suppose to help put back eynzines that alcohol, depletes.Im happy the kroger brand comes in alot of different flavors,my favorite is the key lime pie.Another thing is you can freeze the yogurt for a craving for icecream, low in calories.
