I was disappointed with the Kroger Greek nonfat yogurt I sampled this morning. I bought the blackberry yumberry flavor because it sounded so different and "yummy" but I didn't find it to be up to my expectations. It was a pre-blended yogurt which I don't like as well as the fruit-on-the-bottom style. The consistency was more like a regular yogurt than a true Greek yogurt which is thicker and richer. This was not. And, though, I appreciated it had no added sugar, it really needed a touch of sweetener to offset the tart blackberry taste. Not my favorite, sadly.
a pyramid of flavor.
I was given coupons and a gift card to try the kroger yogurts. My local Kroger did not have a big selection of the greek yogurt but had a lot of carb master to choose from. The greek was much pricier than the carb master ($1 verses $.40) but it was also much tastier (I had strawberry). It had a creamier texture and a richer flavor. The carb master was not as tasty. Maybe it was because it was low sugar and low carb, but I felt it was very bland (I had blueberry).
My family talked about the Carbmaster products from Kroger. I told about the lower amounts of calories and few carbs in the products. We discussed how the milk has a stronger taste than the regular milk. We discussed the benefits of using a higher priced product which included healthy choices, and quality. In comparison to regular milk the Carbmaster was not well rated. However, the Carbmaster strawberry and peach yogurt were very well favored. The Strawberry Greek Lite was liked for the texture, quality, flavor, attributes, taste. They wanted more of the Strawberry Yogurt. The peach was like to but the Strawberry was favored over any of the yogurts.
I had my husband try the strawberry Greek yogurt and the CARBmasters vanilla milk. He actually really liked the milk. He said "yummy" when he drank it. I had planned to give the rest of the carton to my brother (because I didn't care for it). However, my husband says he's going to try it in his coffee tomorrow, so my brother may be out of luck. He'll have to hurry over if he wants to try it. My husband also thought the yogurt was pretty good. He thought it was better than some other Greek yogurts that he's tried. If he likes the milk in his coffee, I may purchase it again in the future, but he said he prefers his regular Yoplait yogurt.
I didn't care for the greek yogurt and my children wouldn't even eat it (although I think that is a preference). Now the CARBmaster is another story . . . Since I just recently had bariatrics surgery I am limited as to what I can eat. I have to pay attention to sugar and protein more now than I ever did. With that being said, I loved this yogurt. Not only was it flavorful and offer 8 grams of protein, but it ONLY HAD 5 GRAMS OF SUGAR in it. Finding a yogurt with that little of sugar in it has been a challenge for me. I am pleased to say that I am hooked on this yogurt. I will be buying more of it.
I have tried Fred Meyer Greek Yogurt and their new CarbMaster yogurt. The Greek is my favorite and the value is incredible, nearly half the price of other brands of Greek yogurt. And I'm not giving up taste by going with Fred Meyer. Their Greek Pomegranate is my favorite, it's thick and rich and satisfying. I will note that the picture on the carton shows bits of pomegranate, but there are no bits in the yogurt, it's cream with no fruit on the bottom or mixed in. The Greek Berry, Black Cherry and Strawberry are delicious as well, and since they are nonfat they only have 130 calories and zero grams of fat. What amazed me is the Greek yogurt contains no artificial sweeteners, just sugar and the natural sweetener from plants called Stevia. I don't like artificial sweeteners, but it's getting harder to find yogurt made without them. As far as the Fred Meyer CarbMaster yogurt, I wasn't as pleased with it because it does contain the artificial sweetener sucralose. The White Chocolate Raspberry is my favorite flavor, and it only has 60 calories! However, due to the artificial sweetener it tends to leave an after taste in my mouth that I don't care for. All artificial sweeteners do this, and this is why I avoid them. I should have read the ingredients before choosing these yougurts. Overall, Kroger and Fred Meyer have something for everyone. If you like Greek yogurt, they have amazing flavors that deliver big. If you are diabetic and need artificially sweetened yogurt, they have that too. The value is excellent, and I will definitely be purchasing more of the Fred Meyer Greek Yogurt because it is very satisfying and makes a healthy breakfast.
Went to my WW meeting on Friday and not only took the coupons, but took cups of the Kroger CARBmaster yogurt and gave to 7 of my friends there. The girls couldn't believe how good tasting and creamy it was, and the best bonus was only the 60 calories and 4 carbs. which equals ONLY "1" POINTS PLUS! YEAH!!!! This is perfect for all us trying to lose weight. All 7 girls were stopping at Smith's to purchase their NEW FAVORITE KROGER'S CARBmaster YOGURT. Thanks Buzzagent for giving me this opportunity to try (and keep) this product in my fridge as part of my healthy living program.
I have always bought yogurt but never Kroger brand and I have been missing out. The price is great but the taste is even better. I bought the Kroger CARBmaster yogurt and loved the texture and taste. It was a delight. There were several different flavors and I got 6 different ones, my son loved the peach one, and I loved them all. I love the fact that my son enjoyed such a healthy snack. I also got the Greek yogurt and the Greek light yogurts. I have never been a fan of any Greek yogurt but these wern't to bad. I think they are better than the other brand I have tried. I would recommend CARBmaster to anyone and will be buying them in the future. First for the taste and second for the price
I finally received my package of coupons from BzzAgent and Kroger for their new CARBmaster and Greek Yogurt lines. On my way to work and armed with my Blendtec Blender, I stopped by Kroger to pick up a treat for my co-workers. I picked up 18 different flavors of yogurt from these new lines, strawberries, granola, bananas, pineapple, spinach, a new carton of CARBmaster Milk, and a large bag of ice, and on my way to work I went. When I arrived at work, I set up a yogurt and smoothie bar for all my friends at work. I told them to each pick out a flavor of yogurt that they wanted to try and that they could eat it plain, mix it with and of the fruit and extra condiments, or blend themselves a smoothie using my blender. It was so much fun!! My co-workers were so impressed by the low calories and high protein content in each yogurt and even more surprised by the price. Most of the time while I am at Krogers, they end up being no more than a dollar each, and sometimes even less. The flavors you can choose from include Plain, Chai Tea, all kinds of fruit, Carrot Cake and several more. The milk that was used to make the smoothies was very creamy and had a pleasant flavor, not the usual bitternes of the almond milks and others on the market. I had a few coupons that I gave to my friends, and the next day they let me know they had already used them. We have already dedcided that next Friday, we are all going to chip in and have another yogurt bar and we are all definitely going to use the Kroger brand. Not one person in our little group had any complaints or dislikes with this yogurt.
