Ahhh, Fridays. The end of the work week, the promise of a glorious weekend to come. What could possibly make them better? Why, awesome free stuff, of course. If you already have an account online with The Kroger Co. Family of Stores, you’re halfway there — all you need to do is head to freefridaydownload.com every Friday to grab your free product of the week (load it directly to your Shopper’s Card!). No leafing through newspapers or clipping and carrying coupons. Just an item in your cart that becomes totally free when you swipe your Card at the register. Don’t have an account online yet? It’s never too late to sign up!
Even before this campaign CityMarket.com needed improvement and it has only gotten worse. Fist trying to get the coupon page you may have to try several different times to even get to the coupon page after logging in. When you click on one of the coupons to load to card it will take around 15 seconds before it goes to "loaded". Sometimes you'll get a message such as this one "Error We were unable to apply the coupon "Save $1.10 on EDY'S®" to your account, please contact customer service for additional assistance." which I just got. Then today it also took me several times to log in, it kept saying the site was under maintenance and to try later. This is a big problem on Fridays. This is a day that a lot of people go shopping, so they should have the site ready on Fri mornings. Also they need a way to bypass digital coupons, if you have paper coupons that you want to use instead. Say they could ask for paper coupons before they Total it and scan your paper coupons first. Then when they total it at the end the digital coupon would just not apply. City Markets coupons are not really that good. Safeway has much better digital coupons. I get better coupons from the paper and manufacturers sites. If I can't use my paper coupon because I had downloaded the digital and there is no way to unload the coupon, it sometimes forces me to not buy that product and then go to Walmart where they will match the sale price and take my coupons. The only good thing is that the site does state how many times a coupon can be used. Such as "Use up to 5 times in a single transaction" They also should have the site print coupons like Safeway does, where you can print in color with small thumbnail pictures of the product. This really helps when asking their employees for help to find the product. Most C.M employees can't figure out what the product is that the coupon is referring to. Just now also trying to print out my coupon list it took 4 times of clicking on the print my list of coupons to get the page to show coupons to be printed. It doesn't help to say to contact customer service when you are trying to load and print out your coupons to go shopping. Who has the time to spend contacting them and waiting forever for a response. As for the weekly free product, there hasn't been too many products I would buy in the first place or buy after trying except for the colgate tooth paste. The gas promo is deceptive since you actually have to go to their promo page to find it and click there to get it loaded to your coupons. You will not find it on the coupon page to download. So have them check to see if it is on your total before you pay. They have a UPC to scan to give you the gas points.
