It has been about 2 years since I last colored my hair. I really liked the fact that this color system was ammonia free as that has really bugged me in the past. The smell was actually very pleasant. It was easy to mix and even the gloves were of a much higher quality than others I have found in box colors. One part that I thought needed some improvement when it came to application was that the bottle was very slippery once the coloring got on it. I was worried I would drop it a couple of times. I thought it could use a little more grip or a more ergonomic bottle design. I had absolutely no issues with drips so it kept the bathroom nice and clean. I was able to rinse it out very easily and that process only took about 10 minutes. But I was a bit disappointed when I dried my hair. The color was consistent at the roots, but towards my scalp, it was a little blotchy. I feel like I need to purchase the product again to even out the color. I didn't even rush the process of applying the color. I took about 30 minutes and spent a lot of time rubbing it in, so I was very surprised it wasn't even. Overall, I think garnier has a good product but some things could be tweaked. I feel like if I am only going 1 shade darker (which is what I ended up doing) I shouldn't have issues with uneven distribution.
I have naturally curly/kinky hair that I love. My hair tends to be dry so I wanted a product that would add color and leave my tresses moisturized. Olia appealed to me because of it's use of oils instead of ammonia. Normally I use straight henna and if I don't add extra oils and conditioners to it my hair is extremely parched after my treatment. With Olia my hair was as moisturized as it is with a henna treatment and I didn't have to add all the extras. The application was extremely easy, there was no awful smell and it only took about 30 mins. The color was awesome! See for yourself. I would and have recommended Garnier Olia to everyone that has asked me about my hair (several people). Try it!
I thought it was interesting to find the hair dye for it was the biggest box on the shelf...I followed all the instructions and it did its job well..I went from a light brown to a dark blackish brown which is my normal hair color..i realized that there seem like not as much hair dye sometimes when you use other brands i felt like i would never run out of dye it is twice as much liqiud...The only thing i did not like was my hair looked really oily afterwards but i did a double wash today and it looks better thank for giving me the chance to try something new because us moms dont like to spend money useless we know it is going to work...
I love using Garnier Olia. My hair has never Felt so soft and silky. It was simple and it made my hair shine better than any other product I've ever used. The smell was refreshing too. I was skeptical due to past experience with home hair color but this has won me over 100%.
I couldn't use this product because of going thru chemo so I haven't got all my hair back yet. But, I gave it to a friend to use and she loved it. She told me it doesn't make your hair feel bad like alot of the other at home colors and it covered the gray wonderfully ! Her hair looked really good and healthy after using it not fried like alot of others make it look. She said she will definatly be buying this. So, even though I couldn't use it, I'm glad to know it done a great job on coloring and was easy on the hair. I will buy it when my hair comes back in. Thanks for letting us try this product.
I was really excited to try this product . I took my coupon to Walmart and grabbed a box of soft black. I haven't colored my hair in a year so my natural color is auburn. When I do dye my hair I usually use feria or revlon. I liked the smell of the garnier olia but that's about it! I covered my roots and ends and in between with the dye and waited 30 min hopped in the shower rinsed with water until it was clear and followed up with the conditioner. I than blew my hair dry and noticed HUGE amounts of hair that had no color. It was almost as if the color didn't take. I didn't miss any hair while dying it , my whole head was covered in dye . I have always colored my hair and have never messed it up. My husband is currently out at CVS buying revlon soft black. I'm VERY disappointed in this product and wouldn't recommend it.
The process was no more difficult than any other process! The texture of my hair is wonderfully soft. It doesn't even feel like I colored it!
I've been dying my hair forever and I always thought it looked good (even my stylist complimented me on my color), I was AMAZED at how soft Olia left my hair, how the color sparkled (not in a glittery way, in a super shiney WOW kinda way)..it definitely does not look like color from a box. my only regret is that I wish it was available in the same shades as the rest of the Garnier Haircolor Line. But, it is new, so maybe it'll happen eventually.
I AM UNDECIDED AT THIS POINT. I HAVE MEDIUM BROWN HAIRAND CHOSE A LIGHT AUBURN . THE APPLICATOR AND THE BOTTLE TO MIX IN WERE NICE AND EASY TO USE. THERE WAS A PLEASANT SCENT AND NO AMMONIA SMELL. AFTER I USED ALL THE COLOR AND COVERED MY HEAD I LET IT SET FOR 30 MINUTES. WHEN I WASHED IT OUT AND USED THE CONDITIONER ,THE CONDITIONER LEFT MY HAIR FEELING SILKY AND SMOOTH. AFTER I TOOK THE TOWEL OFF MY HEAD MY BOYFRIEND NOTICED THE FRONT OF MY HAIR WAS REALLY BLOTCHY AND A LOT BRIGHTER RED THAN THE REST OF MY HAIR. I REWASHED IT OUT AND FOR THE MOST PART IT FADED. THE COLOR IS NICE BUT IT DID NOT COVER WELL EVEN THOUGH I COVERED MY HEAD COMPLETLEY. MY BROWN STLLS SHOWS THROUGH, BUT IT KINDA LOOKS LIKE I JUST PUT RED HIGHLIGHTS IN MY HAIR. MY BOYFRIEND SAYS HE LIKES IT BUT TO BE HONEST I MAY BE RE COLORING SOON.
I was so excited to get into this campaign, and am so glad I did! I was impressed with the number of shades to choose from, and I decided to go with "medium golden brown". The directions are very easy to follow. I was surprised to see that the developer was not already in the applicator, but that was not a problem. The applicator tip is twist off, which is great as you do not need to use scissors to remove the tip. The developer and color are both on the thick side, so I did have to manipulate the tube of the developer to make sure all of the product was squeezed into the applicator. The color tube was not a problem. It was easy to mix, even with the consistancy being thick. The gloves included were great! They fit well, and were not the thin plastic gloves you see in many box colors. The shape of the applicator bottle is different, teardrop shaped, easy to hold and easy to squeeze. The bottle did slip out of my hands a couple times while I was coloring my hair. Ridges or grips on the bottle would have probably helped. Onto the color itself...the smell is surprisingly plesent. I do love the fact that there is no ammonia! The thickness of the product is a plus. Minimal drips, and it is easy to distribute through hair. I do wish a second set of gloves would have been included for after the 30 min, when you need to massage the color before the rinse. I was a little worried with the color when I was finished, it did seem to have a lot of orange undertones, but it seems to have settled nicely. My hair does not seem dry, like after some hair colors, and it is shiny! Overall, I loved it!
