I have combination skin with a very oily t-zone. With the heat, my skin usually gets oilier the hotter the weather & I was worried about finding a new matte foundation that would be good for the summer. I was thrilled when I got into this campaign. I ordered the shade medium/deep - I am the medium shade in most foundations & this was a great match. I also have cool (pink) undertones & was worried that this since more people are warm than cool that this product might lean too yellow. This has a neutral, leaning a little pink, undertone so it was a fantastic match. I am a little concerned that the shade range is so limited: If I am medium/ deep then how deep can the deep be. Very dark skintones are often ignored so maybe garnier will consider making a couple more shades to account for more skintones because this is such a great product. The oil absorbing Perilite formula truly does amazing things to my oily t-zone. I prefer a matte finish to my makeup because on oily skinned people the "dewy & glowy" look can easily look like oiliness. The garnier oil-free BB cream stays matte almost the entire day & oil doesn't break down the makeup like it can to some other foundations. My skin looks almost the same after an entire day of wear as right after application. While it does keep my t-zone matte, it doesn't dry out the drier spots on the edge of my face near the jaw and hairline. I typically have to blot & powder 2-3 times during the course of a 14-16 hour day, but with this BB cream that is down to 1 blotting & powdering usually late in the afternoon. Major improvement. During the course of this trial I broke out in small red blotches all over my cheeks from a new cream blush I was trying. I was very worried that applying makeup on top would aggravate the breakout more or that I'd have to load up on concealer to cover it. I was able to just use one application of this product and the blemishes were nearly completely invisible. Even after using it, I wasn't expecting that good of coverage from a BB cream. It also didn't aggravate my skin further and the blemishes cleared very quickly. I feel that since this is oil free, non-acnegenic, and non-comedogenic that this would be a great product for people with sensitive skin. Another thing that makes this my ideal product for the summer is that it contains SPF 20 without the sunscreen smell, white cast, or greasiness that can accompany other products containing SPF. The only negative I can think of for this product is that due to the thin consistency of the product and the way it opens, the nozzle can get messy and/or quickly dispense too much product. As long as I'm careful, this is a non-issue. As someone who nearly exclusively shops at department store counters & Sephora for makeup, I was not expecting to love this product as much as I do. This is a very affordable high quality product: most high end foundations/BB creams/Tinted Moisturizers are sold in 1 oz packaging for much more. This is 2 oz of product for only 12.99, plus Garnier and Garnier retailers usually offer sales or coupons! I am so glad I discovered this product.
When I first started this bzz campaign, I didn't actually know what a BB Cream was - so after some research and a little help from my big sister, I came to understand what the term means. And I don't know if I'd actually consider this a true "BB Cream". It's more of a tinted moisturizer with sunscreen. Don't get me wrong, it covers my face fantastically, and I've truly loved using it. I'll probably use it instead of my normal foundation for the time being. Positive things about the product: 1- It has sunscreen in it. With all the push for skin protection, that's a huge plus side for me. 2- It really did make my face non-oily. And it didn't need to be caked on to do it. 3- This goes with the caked on comment in the previous number - it didn't feel heavy on my face. I was able to wear it under my makeup and it felt really light Some things that could be improved: 1- The consistency is really thin. Like pouring hot syrup thin. That's how fast it moves. And there's no way to stop it. The way the container is made, it sits on its cap - so as soon as I twist off the cap and turn it over, it's flowing out the bottom, without me having to push the tube at all. Which makes overusing the product extremely easy. 2- More color choices would be nice. Instead of having a light/medium and a medium/dark, having something for light skin, medium-light skin, medium-dark skin and dark skin would be nice. Sometimes the color was a little too tinted for my face, so I would try to blend it really well with my neck to make the transition look better. Being able to choose a color just for my pale skin would be a gigantic motivator for me to get this again. 3- A formula that stayed a little better on my face. I know that sounds like an odd way to word it, but I'm a college kid. I go to school in dark sweatshirts (less washing that way), and inevitably lean my face on my sleeve some time during class. Only to look down after I've done so and see some of the BB Cream now on my black jacket. My face still looks fine, and I didn't put too much on at the beginning of the day, but you might want to think twice if you're in for a day of long lectures where you want to prop your head up - unless you have an overwhelming desire to do laundry at the end of the day (which I can guarantee, no college kid ever has the urge to do - speaking from experience here). Overall, I did like the product. I liked the fact that it made my T-zone matte and not caked with product. I liked the fact that I could use it as a foundation and still have my face protected by sunscreen. I'll continue to use the bottle until I run out, since I do like it, and then re-evaluate it's worth from there.
I LOVE the Garnier Oil-Free BB Cream! I'll admit, I use mostly Mary Kay products. I have also tried another brand of BB cream... that I originally thought I liked, but the more I used it, the more I realized it wasn't giving me the results I was looking for-- AND it didn't have sunscreen. I have become more concerned with wearing sunscreen so I was really happy to see that the Garnier BB cream had sunscreen! First let me tell you... I have terrible skin. Since I was a teenager, I have battled with break outs on and off. I am 25 and sometimes think it's WORSE than ever. I also have uneven skin. A lot of foundations don't cover well enough, or they cake up on those dried, crusty places (if you battle with acne, you probably understand what I'm talking about). I LOVE the way the Garnier BB Cream goes on so smoothly! I couldn't believe how well it covered the redness and unevenness! The other BB cream I had tried, I was still using bronzer on top of it to tone down shine and to give me the right color... NOT with Garnier! It matched my skin so well, and I feel the BB Cream covers well enough, and it doesn't leave me oily and shiny! No need for extra powder on top! I like the packaging as well. Some people thought the price was a little more than they'd pay for foundation... but the size of the tube is totally worth it! You don't have to use a ton of product to get a great result, so I really think it's worth it. And honestly, for a BB Cream, Garnier's is inexpensive. I have had nothing but good results with this product. It is long lasting (read: I don't seem to "melt" even on the hottest days). Great coverage, without being too cakey and "fake" looking. I feel it's very natural. Great price, great size. Has sunscreen! SO many great things about this product! I have told my mom and sisters all about it!
I have been using Garnier Oil-Free B.B. cream for a little over a month now, and I absolutely LOVE it! First I apply the cream which is actually more of a liquid by dotting it all over my face and then blending all the dots in together. I found this gives me more effective coverage while using less product. The outcome? It gives me flawless looking skin by giving me full coverage of all my acne scars and redness, has NO shine, totally shrank the pores on my nose and provides SPF 20 which is great for this time of year. After over a month of using it my skin feels less oily overall and I have not gotten any new breakouts, the breakout I had when I started using this product is almost completely gone now! I still have about half the bottle left and it only costs about 11.99 at the drugstore! Compared to my old makeup this is a steal! I love this product so much I have commpletely switched from my old mineral powder foundation. I have saved time in my makeup routine (by cutting out moisturizer, cover stick, powder and more) and have better overall coverage. This cream also lasts twice as long as my old mineral makeup and costs less than half the price! I love my Garnier Oil-Free B.B. cream and will never go back! I recommend it to all my friends and family members and anyone who will listen! Below is my final photo with Garnier B.B. cream on, outside in the most unforgiving light. With the cream on, my skin looks so much less shiny and oily and just looks clean and smooth!
I really enjoyed using Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream. Normally, I don't use foundation that much, and for a very good reason: I hate the cakey feeling on my face and the fact that it seems to encourage more acne. I know Garnier's new BB Cream isn't meant as a foundation, but it actually worked really well as one for me. With my skin being as light as it is, it not only made my skin tone look way more even, but it also added just a little bit of color to my face, and without that caked-on feeling of regular foundation. I also like the fact that it is oil-free, as it reassures me that I won't have to worry about it causing a breakout. Now, it may not have completely eliminated my acne, but it definitely made them far less visible and I've even noticed that my blemishes have started to go away. Great product that I will definitely continue to use in the future!
Before I begin, I wouldn't like to say this is my second review of this miracle product that is Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector Oil-Free B.B. Cream. Last time my review was based on a few days of using it and applying it with my fingertips. This time around I used an egg shaped sponge (picture included). Its been a couple of weeks of using Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector Oil-Free B.B. Cream and I'm still very impressed with how well it works for me. It delivers what it promises like covering some imperfections, minimizes my pores around my nose, controls my shiny forehead and nose. Not sure how much it hydrates since I also use a moisturizer for the face but it doesn't dry my face which some others have. It does recommend that you reapply it as necessary throughout the day. I haven't done this. I don't feel like I have needed to. Maybe as the weather get warmer. The Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector Oil-Free B.B. Cream is really easy to apply and I didn't have to wait long for it to absorb to my skin so I could apply blush and eye shadow fairly quickly. Yes, I used the Garnier BB Cream to cover some mark I had in my eyelid and it didn't bother my eyes in the least. At the beginning of using this BB Cream I noticed a hint of perfume but now I don't notice it at all, it never bothered me so I would be okay with noticing it now. My process: On a clean face I applied a moisturizer because I had some dry spots after being sick for about a week. I let it dry/absorb. I then shook the Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector Oil-Free B.B. Cream a couple of times. Then while the cap still on and facing up I tapped the cap about four times so it doesn't spill all over. It has worked for me. I then poured a little amount into the back of my hand then dapped the sponge and dotted my face. I noticed the sponge absorbed the BB Cream really fast. Using soft circular motions I applied it all over my face and jaw line. It went on smooth but I felt like some of it got wasted on the sponge. I think from now on I will continue to use my fingertips. It was my first time using this type of sponge so maybe I still need to get used to it. What you need to know is that the consistency is a little runny but I didn't experienced any spills not even the first time I opened it. It runs for retail price of $12.99 and there are coupons you can use in many retail stores. The bottle is only 2 FL Oz. but you don't need much to cover up the face. It comes in Light/Medium, Medium/Deep, and Deep and recommended for Combination to Oily skin. I have recommended the Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector Oil-Free B.B. Cream to family and friends. *Pictures taken about 4+ hours apart and right before taking off the BB Cream getting reading for bed*
So, it's the final day, and I've been using my Garnier BB cream faithfully since I received it. I have to admit, I haven't joined the bb/cc bandwagon, and was happy with a moisturizer then powder foundation, which worked well for my skin, even if powder ended up all over my sink/clothes/floor. I wear minimal makeup, but do have somewhat blotchy combination skin and a very shiny nose, so do have to wear foundation every day. So,the great benefits are: 1. it's ridiculously easy to apply - nice liquidy consistency that blends easily 2. a little goes a long way 3. it works really well with my skin tone. I got the medium to deep, and I have darker, asian skin, and once I'd worked out how much to use, I liked the result 4. when it says combination to oily skin, it means it and doesn't do weird things to your skin in the less-oily places.(I did actually try a very expensive tarte bb cream that was really, really dry and made me look like bits of my skin were falling off) 5.it's not ridiculously expensive And with that, I love it. It is my go-to for the "get ready in seconds" type of makeup life that I lead. However: 1. See point 3 above. There is no way of telling how much to use, and it is very liquidy, hence you need only a a tiny bit. Otherwise the color just doesn't work and you look like you've caked a bad beige color on your face. 2. Did I mention my nose? Shiny nose. And while it does minimize the shine, it's still there unless you want to give your nose the above caking treatment and make it look like it's not part of the rest of your face. So I still have to use the powder foundation. Which is fine. Except that still makes everything a two-step process. So, in reality, it's absolutely the best product I've used so far, but shine issues are still there (the big pore problems too). My version of "minimize" seems not to coincide with anybody else in the cosmetic industry as I'd like it closer to "disappear" instead of "make slightly better."
When I was offered the opportunity to try Garnier Oil-Free BB Cream, through Bzz Agent, I was curious but skeptical. After all, I have oily skin, and as those of you with oily skin know, anything that even comes close to keeping the oil at bay causes more breakouts and irritation than I want to deal with. Besides, I've had problems with other Garnier products causing large breakouts in the past. But my curiosity about the new formula with Perlite in it got the better of me - and I am glad it did! When I first applied Garnier Oil-Free BB cream, I immediately noticed the mattifying effect, and was pleased. I was even more pleased to still have matte-looking skin hours later. The only other time that has come close to happening for me was when I used the combination of a serious primer and a serious foundation - and then I paid for it afterward. So the Garnier already had me intrigued, and it was just a matter of waiting to see how my skin reacted. And it didn't. Not a single makeup-induced blemish in sight. Frankly, I was shocked. My initial results were so pleasing, that I decided to take this cream as my only "foundation" on a week long business trip just a few days after I first tried the product. And I was very pleased with the results - a professional, light makeup that evened my skin tone and wore all day without broadcasting "I'm wearing makeup!" That's the look I prefer in makeup - if you prefer a heavier foundation, then a BB cream probably isn't for you in the first place. I did still have to use concealer on any blemishes I had, but that wasn't surprising, as that's necessary even with heavy foundations. And on the muggiest days, I find that the finish doesn't stay quite as matte. But it is still much more matte than anything else I have ever tried. The only real negative I found was with the bottle. For some reason, if you stand it right side up, which has the tip pointing down, some of the cream leaks out and onto the bottle threads. It's not a lot, and it's definitely not a huge deal, but it's one of those annoying things that makes the bottle a little messy and results in a small amount of wasted product. To get around it, I try to store the bottle upside down (although this is impossible to do while traveling). The biggest compliment I can give to Garnier Oil-Free BB Cream is a compliment I received myself. While wearing it, I had my first haircut with a new stylist. As she was cutting my hair, she commented on how perfect my perfection was, and then said "and you're not even wearing any makeup!" Now that is the result I'm going for!
I waited as long as possible before reviewing my Garnier BB Cream, because all too often I try new skin products that work great for a few days, and then leave my skin ravaged (huge pores, oily T-zone, dried out cheeks - ick!) a week later. The Garnier BB Cream campaign happened to coincide with finals for me - an ultimate test of a foundation/skin care product, as my stress tends to manifest in my face. As I thought, the first time I put on the Garnier BB Cream, it was amazing! Melted right over my skin, erasing redness and blemishes, and drying to a beautiful matte finish. It lasted all day - I was impressed. Three days later, one week later, and even now, the BB cream works wonders! Not only is my skin more radiant after I apply my Garnier BB Cream, but it seems to be clearing up beautifully - no more oily T-zone and combination dry outer zones. All during finals, and amid incredibly high stress levels! I have to say, I'm remarkably impressed. A few other notes, now that I can officially say that I LOVE my Garnier BB cream: A little goes a long way! I am continually surprised at how little product I need to cover my face, especially when I used to have to slather on much more expensive "quality designer" products. The color blends brilliantly. I have the medium light cream, and though my skin has gotten a little darker now that the weather is warming up and it sees more sun, the color of the cream still blends in with my skin tone beautifully. Lasts all day! I carry small samples of my previous foundation in my purse, with a little sponge for emergency touch ups. In the time that I have been using the Garnier BB Cream, I have not once had to do a touch up. (I average about a 16 hour day before getting home too!) Good by department store, MAC, Sephora, and whatever other products people keep recommending to me. I love my stress free skin, and I love my Garnier BB Cream. And ladies, I promise you will too.
Here's what I liked about Garnier's B.B. Cream: 1). The coverage is light and doesn't make me look like i was wearing an inch of makeup 2). This product goes on smooth and evenly. I always use a foundation brush to even out my makeup application but this cream went on quick and easy which is key when I'm trying to get myself and two little girls ready in the mornings. 3). It's oil free and I didn't get any breakouts while using the product. That's a huge win in my book! 4). After applying in the morning it left me a nice matte finish. I still applied a powder on top but I wish the matte finish lasted throughout the day. It probably has to do more with my skin and less about the product. I'd say maybe there a few cons to this product: 1). For me it didn't seem to control my oil and shine throughout the day. By the end of the day I looked as oily as I do when I use other products 2). If you're looking to cover up a big blemish, let's say a red pimple...you'll still need some concealer since the coverage is pretty light. 3). My pores seemed to be the same size when I started using the product as when the BzzCampaign ended...not huge but definitely noticeable.
