The Shelter Pet Project

From day one, The Shelter Pet Project has been all about giving shelter pets a voice and finding them a home. Too often people problems like relocation, divorce, allergies, etc. get unfairly transferred onto shelter pets. And without a proper voice, that's where they stay.

But not anymore.

Because TheShelterPetProject.org is both a resource and a movement. On the site you can connect with current pet adopters and shelter volunteers, meet some great dogs and cats in your area up for adoption, and explore some fun new ways of interacting with them.

Their voice is louder with your voice, so jump on the site, get involved, or simply look at some super-cute pets. And remember, Adopt!

I think this website will be an effective tool to show people how their maltreatment of animals effects them. Maybe this tool will serve as a reality check for people who see pets as their personal play things and treat them inhumanely and irresponsibly.

I really liked this site. One of my favourite parts was the "Adopt-A-Gram". You can send an ecard to a friend with a picture of an animal to adopt saying a personal message. I thought it was a really cute and smart way to get people to their site. If you are looking for an animal this website is a great place to start looking!
