I love the book - it leaves much to the imagination. The movie on the other hand was 2 hours of complete boredom and no need for imagination. I am a strong believer in reading first watching later - but in this case, read and don't bother watching. Just read again. view more

I work for a public library system. We showed the movie Where The Wild Things Are at all of our 5 library branches. We received mixed reviews after the programs. A lot of families did like the movie, but thought that it was dragged out to long. Over all it was ok, but not worth watching a second time. What a shame, because it is a great book. view more

2 hours I'll never get back

This movie was a huge waste of 2 hours of my time. As a child I loved the book so I was really looking forward to seeing the movie. As I watched the movie, I realized they really missed the mark on this one. They show Max as a boy who is completely out of control, and his mother as careless. The majority of the movie was spent watching a therapy session for puppets. It didn't make sense, and it certainly wasn't like the book I loved as a child. I'd give this review no stars, but I have to give it one. It was a waste of my time, and I'm thoroughly disappointed. view more

Where the wild things are i have never seen, but i have read the books while i was little. I really like the book I'll have to make an point to see it. If its as good as i remember the book bring i'll enjoy it as well. view more

Fun is in the house

It is a romp through my childhood where my favorite charectors come to life. I would recommend this movie for all ages. I really did enjoy how the created the facial expression on the charecters. It is a fun and quirky movie. view more

Where the Wild Things Are - Where the strange things are When I was growing up, I loved this book. I read it over and over. So when the movie was made, I thought it would probably be pretty cool. Boy was I wrong! I was not imprressed by this show. It was slow and kind of boring. The granddaughter got bored with it and left the room. She just didn't understand it. She has read the book and liked it very much. I guess the movie is for older kids and younger adult than me. view more
