Back on the wagon!

I did Weight Watchers about 3 years ago and lost a fair amount of weight. Then I got lazy and quit...gained back the weight plus some. I had my 3rd child and gained even more. Now I am back on again since it's the only thing in the last 5 years of dieting that actually worked. I love it. 3 weeks in and I've lost 5 pounds and it has been easy! I need structure, but not a STRICT plan. I can have any food I want as long as I measure and account for the points elsewhere. The PointsPlus system is great. view more

3rd time on the program

This is my 3rd time on the program but first time since they changed to PointsPlus program. I like the PointsPlus program a lot better than the previous as it allows fruits and vegetables as unlimited which is the biggest bonus. Fruit feels like a treat and prevents me from cheating and grabbing a chocolate bar - which we avoid having in the house :) So far so good. Also like the new books provided with this new program and the calculator seems necessary with this change. Wish me luck! Need to get this baby weight off :) view more

Changing Lives

I love WW because it does not restrict you with food. You can eat whatever you want, as long as you stick to your portion control and total number of pointes per day. Yesterday, I had twizzlers and Indian food. I counted them as points. And i lost 2 lbs this week. I especially love that fruits are 0 points and that you can track your food on the Mobile App. that is the most importnat thing for me, because i actuallly do it. WW teaches you how to eat, it does not tell you what to eat and that is a huge differnce. I know what to eat, I just need to learn to control the portion size. WW helps me do that and I am a success! view more

Losing Weight

Weight Watchers has done wonders for me. I've lost almost 30 pounds in about 8 weeks. Wahoo!! I love having the freedom of eating whatever you want to. Granted you have to watch the portion size but it makes it so much easier when you got out to a restaurant or are on a tight budget. view more

My husband & I both just started Weight Watchers several weeks ago. The weight loss has been a little slow, but I have lost 5.5 pounds and my husband has lost 10. Both our doctors have said that this is the best diet to stay on and that it does work! I have found alot of great recipies on-line to get out of the same old food rut! view more

Easy, Satisfying - Until You Fall Off th...

I just started Weight Watchers 2 weeks ago for the second time in my life. The first time, I easily lost 50 pounds and found the program easy to follow. As anyone who struggles with food addiction knows, the "switch" can flip at any moment, and I, like many others, stopped following the plan after about a year. I gained back the 50 pounds I lost plus another 25 for good measure.
I spent many months feeling bad for myself, considering surgery, and wishing there was another option when it occured to me that WW had worked before, so maybe it could work again.
When I started again, the program had changed to the current Points Plus regimen which I love. My biggest complaint before was that you could lose weight even if you ate 30 points of twinkies in one day. While that's still true, this new plan forces you to take into consideration not just fat and fiber, but also protein and carbs. I knew carbs were my problem, but looking at them in this new way has really opened my eyes to the damage I was causing myself.
I feel hopeful that this time, WW will become a way of life for me and that I will not get cocky and think I am in control. Food is my addiction - a battle that I will have to conciously fight for the rest of my life. Weight Watchers is teaching me to look at food differently and helping me to understand how to eat better.
To anyone who's never dieted, or to those who've made a career of it: WW is extremely easy to follow and easy to implement into your life. Tracking is an adjustment in the beginning, but you'll find that you eat a lot of the same foods and that you learn the points quickly and don't have to look them up everytime. view more

Oaty Chocolate Chip Mini Cookies

These are from the U.K. - I don't know if they are available in the U.S...
They have a hint of oatmeal, but no chocolate that I can discern. The oat does give the cookies a bit of a chewy texture, but overall, these are crunch, harder cookies. Which isn't bad, per se - hard cookies have a place!

Not getting another dime out of me

I am a long time Weight Watchers member and I loved the Momentum plan. It worked for me so well. I like being in control of what I eat and not made to feel pushed to choose certain things. I HATE the new plan. At the first weigh in after switching to PointsPlus, I gained. I liked the old way of doing it and I don't see why it had to change. Everything I loved to eat went up in points and even though I got more points I was using all of them plus the weeklies and still was starving. So, WW's won't be getting another dime out of me. I will be doing the old plan for free, on my own! view more

Love the program!

I have never had to diet before in my life. So when the time finally came for me to break down and realize that I needed to loose some weight, Weight Watchers was at the top of my list.
Personally I chose the online method of losing weight through Weight Watchers and it was life-changing.
I am not much into going to meetings and found that doing this online I was able to set my own goals, track my diet and also set up my own menu plan.
I loved getting the weight watchers messages via email and via smart phone and being able to stay on track with my weight loss program.
The best feature of the online program for me was the ability to be able to put in the food that I had in my kitchen and the website helped me create a meal with those ingredients.
I have lost 15 lbs and on my way to my goal, thanks Weight Watchers! view more

Not too keen on the new points!

I have been a long time fan of Weight Watchers. When I was in college, I did the plan and lost 40-45 pounds. The majority of that weight was lost just following the points plan and eating well. I didn't throw in exercise until I found the need to tone up. I really like the points plan and had an easy time sticking to it. I liked being able to eat whatever I wanted. The system took into account the three things people should take into account with their diets - fiber, fat, and calories.
The new plan, however, is more based on carbs. This has made Weight Watchers just like every other diet out there. Low carb diets can be very hazardous. Sure, you can lose a lot of weight very quickly, but studies have proven that the longer it takes you to lose the weight, the longer it generally stays off. Having too few carbs can also acidize your system which can cause a host of other problems. So I've decided to take a stab at using the old points system, since I still have all of my old materials. view more

Weight Watchers' Cinnamon Popped Chips

I recently purchased a box of Weight Watchers' new Cinnamon Popped Chips.
These are WW's way to compete with Popchips, and while they are more expensive, I have not seen a sweet version of popped chips and figured I'd give them a shot.
These are square, as opposed to round like usual chips, and pack a lot of flavor! They are sweet (but not overly so) and while they have a nice, satisfying crunch, they are also soft - almost to the point where you think they'll dissolve on your tongue!
You get a decent amount in each pouch (and there are 5 - why not 6? - pouches per box). Each pouch is only 2 WW's PointsPlus, which is a great snack amount!
These are perfect for on-the-go snacking (car, plane, etc.) and I will most likely buy them again! view more

It works

Weight watchers has made me a better woman. I have lost almost 30 lbs since March and feel great. It's amazing what a little portion control will do, and really that's all it comes down to. You can eat whatever you want, but control the portions. I bought myself a digital food scale and it has done wonders in calculating oz / grams. I never realized how much I was actually eating. I have begun to feel what full actually feels like and have learned that water is my best friend. I currently use the e*tools and it really is the easiest thing. Lifestyle Change

I love Weight Watchers! I have struggled with my weight my whole life and still am. I am currently attending Weight Watcher meetings and I love it! I love the new points plus program because it's made me eat more fruits and vegetables, when I would otherwise choose another less healthy option. I love attending the meetings and hearing of others' tips and ideas and it also helps to see others struggling with the same things that I am. Lastly, I love that Weight Watchers is a lifestyle change and not just a diet for a limited amount of time. They show you how to change your eating habits so that you can live a healthy life. I am doing this for me, but more for my children. I want to be around for a long time and this is definitely the program to help me do that...forever! Thank you Weight Watchers! view more

Great way to change your eating habits!

I find myself doing Weight Watchers every few years, because it's more of a lifestyle than a diet. I pay for the online program, use it to get to a weight I am happy with, and then continue that lifestyle on my own! Every so often, I find it helpful to sign back up for a refresher on what a correct portion size should be, and what foods I really should be eating more of. I just had a baby and have 30 pounds to lose. 1 week after starting and I'm already 2 pounds down! The program even makes adjustments for nursing mothers, so you can lose the baby weight without worrying about being unhealthy or losing your milk supply. I'll be a lifetime member of Weight Watchers! view more

Love weight watchers, but have an issue

I started Weight Watchers a few months ago and so far I have found it to be a great program. I do the online version and I wish that I also received non-online tools with my subscription. My internet was acting up a few weeks ago and so I had a really hard time deciding what to eat sine the only information I have access to is online. It would also be great if they could send the calculators and other tools the non-online members receive incase I went on vacation and couldn't track or calculate points. I would recommend this product to everyone, though i will say, it still takes planning and smart choices. Just because something is 6 points and you have 6 left doesn't mean you should eat it. Yes, you may have enough points for candy left, but you need to pick items that will keep you full longer. I don't know how well that is stressed in the meetings, but from reading the blogs on the WW website its clear that it hasn't been stressed enough online. view more

Is the New WW Points Plus Better than th...

I've used the Weight Watchers program for many years. I lost a lot of weight with the Points program after my second child was born. Recently I decided to try the new Plus program to lose 10 pounds. I liked the idea of not counting fruits. I tried it for 3weeks. I ended up gaining a few pounds, I didn't over eat fruits, I just find that it didn't work for me. Too many points were allowed. I am back to my 20 points on the old Points and I have lost a few pounds. I feel it's a better program and it gives some flex for cheat days etc. Just wondering what others are thinking about the Plus program? view more

I was on Weight Watchers a few years ago when I was trying to lose 10 pounds. I actually joined with my coworkers and it was great since we had each other to motivate. It was also a really easy plan and I wasn't starving myself. I did lose the 10 pounds! Now I am back on Weight Watchers since I have gained about 15 pounds from last summer and just need to get it off. I started about 3 weeks ago and this time I am trying it online. It has been working out for me. They are now on this new points plus program which is similar to the one I was on a few years ago. I have lost 3 pounds so far which is not bad since I was on vacation last week. I have tried other programs but I really like this one and it does work for me. I would recommend this weight program to anyone that is looking to lose weight. It really is more of a lifestyle program rather than a weigh loss program. view more

Meetings are a must!

I love the new Points Plus program! I joined weight watchers about 3 years ago & lost 40lbs....then I gave up & gained it all back, with a few extra, of course. I know the problem was not the program, but it was me & my lack of mental readiness to stay on program. I re-joined WW about 4 weeks ago after feeling really unhealthy, lazy & eating way too much fast food. I knew I needed to do something & WW was the easiest & best way I knew how to lose weight. The new points plus system is so much better! It takes into consideration fat, protein, carbs & fiber. I was told by me leader I might have a harder time getting used to the new program because it is different than the old one, & I might find it hard to adjust. I had no problems adjusting. Well, except for the fact that I was eating more food than I did in the past. I'm never starving & have a lot more choices. The thing I really love about WW is that you really can eat ANYTHING! Part of the problem with dieting is that you are deprived of certain foods. With WW, I can still have pizza, chocoate, ice cream, alcohol, mexican food, etc. The most imporant part is the meetings. I tried WW online only a few months ago, but was not very successful. The great thing about the meetings is that you can get tips on how to cook different things, tips on new low point foods, support from others who know how you feel & if you're competitive like me & like recognition, you get that too! They celebrate any weight loss....especially 5 pounds. I have lost 8 lbs in the last 4 weeks & I've eaten chocolate, pizza, cake, & I've been out to eat a few times. I haven't even started excersing yet. view more
