I got this book, and I realized quickly that it just isn't my thing, but it was right up my husband's alley (he's an MIT grad into the LOTR and formerly part of a roleplaying group). He read the book and in his "catch-up, end of the year email" to his friends back East, he mentioned that with 2 small children, he doesn't get much time to read but had picked up Shadowmarch and thought they might enjoy it too.
