PS3 or Blu-Ray Player? How about both? I was going to buy a Blu-Ray player. There ended up being a special price on the PS3 and I had to make a choice. I was able to convince myself and more importantly my wife, that the clear choice was the PS3. From high end gaming to high definition movies, we get the best of both worlds. Playstation 3 This system out weighs Xbox by miles. The intergrated Blu-Ray is really what puts it over the top. I have known people that have paid almost the same price for just a Blu-ray player as they could have paid for the playstation. XBOX is not even on the same level! There is no argument here as the victor! I can not believe that there ever was an argument actually. I have owned and played both gaming systems and the PS3 is my clear choice. Blu-ray, no pay to play online, less "cartooney" games. How do I convince the fiance to get one?... I have owned a Playstation since 1998. As soon as the PS2 was out I bought it. Now that the PS3 has been out forever I still need to get one. It seems that everytime I am able to get one the future ex-wife seems to find something else to spend the money on. Lets be honest its the best way to spend 300 dollars. Anyway I go to friends houses and play the PS3 all the time I believe its the greatest system made. No other system has what it has. Even the controller is the most comfortable controller. Great Gaame Console We have had our PS3 from the very day that it hit the shelves. I have to say that that is the best money that I have ever spent on my husband! It can be used by everyone in the family in several different ways. I love that you can not only play video games. but watch movies, stream the internet and even download Netflix movies too! Very versatile The Playstation 3 is a very versatile game console. It is not just for playing games. In fact, I never play games on it. (Only my boyfriend does.) Best Video Game Console Ever!!! I used to have an XBox 360 and actually still own it but don't have a power cord for it any longer because the original cord got fried in a flood. A couple years ago my wife let me buy a PS3 and I haven't regretted switching over ever since. The picture quality on the PS3 games is superior in my opinion and you can play blu-ray movies! To be honest, the PS3 has one of the best blu-ray players as well! Another perk is the fact the the Playstation Network, though indeed it was hacked a while back, is at least free to access. Playstaion is a relaxing console I play both Xbox and PS3 and i dont understand all the hate for the other system have both and have fun. The only game I need. I love the PS3 it is the only game system we play now. We have one of the first generation 60gb PS3s. We have had this thing for about 5 years and it still runs like new. Just to make a good comparason we have purchased another game system ( I won't name any names) and we have had to buy it a few times because it kept going out. My lasting gaming console. I've never had too many problems with my PS3, except the outage they had from online for a while. The graphics are good enough for me, and the game selection has anything I personally look for. Playstation 3 - Great System, Multiple U... I received a Playstation 3 from my husband last Christmas and have been enjoying its many features ever since. This gaming console also serves as a DVD player and Bluray player, can be used to surf the web or play music from Pandora, and the list goes on... I am discovering more uses for my PS3 monthly. I love the assortment of games available. My favorites so far are Zumba, Lego Indiana Jones, and Lights Out. I guarantee that if you purchase this system, it won't sit idle assuming you like to watch movies, play games, and listen to music. Great media center, video gaming system Playstation 3 has fantastic graphics and sound along with a great setup for streaming videos and audio to your system to easy sharing. Also it is being utilized by developers for great apps such as the Netflix app which allows you to use your Netflix subscription with your PS3 for great image and audio quality. The only gripe that I do have with the system is the not-very-seamless Playstation Network. It is often times slow and frustrating, not to mention the major security breach of earlier in the year. I love this thing! I've had this system for a couple years now, after saving up and finally being able to own it. It's had a lot of flack in media and all over game sites, but I personally love this system, and feel it's better then any other console. I've loved playing the games I've owned, and have had very little problems with it. I hope to play this one for many years, and I feel it's got a lot of life to it yet. Best Birthday Present Ever So I bought my PS3 for myself for my birthday. I was having a tough year and wanted something to amuse myself. I bought my the Metal Gear Solid edition and bought GTA 4 along with it. This have me two great games to start out with and I have had great fun ever since. I am happy that my PS3 is still back compatible, one of the last models that was. This console has given me many hundreds of great hours of fun and given me very little trouble. It has frozen on me a couple times, but in the three years i have had it, i have never had a real problem with it. I now use it to watch netflix in addition to gaming. Does almost EVERYTHING! Bought my 60GB ps3 right before they stopped making them. Been very happy with the machine for the most part, never had any mechanical issues. Blu-ray is awesome! They have some great exclusive games with a solid lineup. Having all my music stored on there is pretty sweet. I have an external hard drive with movies that plugs right in and watchable on the ps3, sweet! Playstation Home, not for me, but there. Free online is cool. The removal of 'Other OS' was a bad, bad thing and has soured me on future Sony game systems, but that's for a whole other review. We would be lost without our PS3 I was not looking forward to getting the Playstation when we bought our first one. I thought it was a waste of money, and just another gaming console to take up space and time and money. But the Playstation 3 turned out to be of very good use! We had the original and got the "green light of death" or something like that, red light maybe? Anyway, it died, and instead of paying for it to be fixed, we just bought a new one. We didn't realize how much we relied on the machine. It was our source of television (Netflix, we don't use cable), internet (we have computers, but it was easy to go to the browser if you were right there), music, games, pictures even. Great Gaming System The Playstation 3 is a great gaming system. The graphics and game play are great and the Play Station Network allows you to play your games online with your friends. My FAVORITE game system!! I'm 35 years old, so of course I've seen and had many game systems over the years. This system however has been my favorite and I'm not sure I'll ever part with it even if they "claim" they made something better. They have so many of the "types" of games I like to play that I'm not sure I'd ever get through them all. The grapics are great and the sleek look of the system is nice as well. Great Games, Great System The PlayStation 3 was the last of the three current consoles that I got, but it's starting to become my favorite of them. Sony's got some first-rate talent making games for this thing. Naughty Dog's Uncharted series is insanely great. I also love that the system plays Blu-Ray discs, and streams Netflix and Hulu+. Ps3 I have a 30G PlayStation 3 fat. I have always been a fan of the PlayStation. I had the PlayStation, PlayStation 2 and when the 3 came out. I had to get it. I've enjoyed playing game on it. The graphics are amazing and the game play flawless. the only negative thing I can say is that my lens got burned and for Sony to fix it, I might as well add the amount they wanna charge to some money and get a new one. Awesome System I have had a PlayStation 3 going on 2 years and I cannot complain at all. My system has never broken down on me. I have enjoyed every game that has I have played on it, and I enjoy the media capability that the console has. The thing that separates the PS3 from other consoles are its web browser, graphics and feel. PS3 is not the choice I purchased my play stations 3 years ago and after 14 months the hard drive failed. So I had to send it back for repair. Six months later I got the blue light special and decided it was time to upgrade to the XBOX. Less than great I recently got a PS3, and have already had several problems with it. First of all, I am so disappointed in some of the design elements. Why in the world would Sony make it so the controllers can only charge when the system is on? Now I have to go buy a charging cradle. I was also annoyed that I can't play my old PS2 games on it. Best Buy - PS3 - best BluRay player - an... As everyone knows, the Sony Playstation 3 is a superior next generation console gaming system. What most people do NOT take into consideration is that it actually is a bargain price BluRay player as well. There is no better station ou can get on the market for cheaper, however it is superior to most of the more expensive players as well. The games are also able to use higher quality graphics, and the controllers are more balanced for playing than most systems. The online Playstation Network is FREE unlike others, and as a bonus, there are some older versions that can play legacy playstation console games as well. Best gaming system out there I bought a ps3 last year and i have nothing but good things to say about it. It is an excellent gaming systems. It has fantastic graphics, plays blu rays, dvds, can hold music, video, pictures, and goes on the internet. Also there is no monthly fee for online play. What more could you ask for. Playstation 3 Been a Playstation 3 gamer since 2006 (Wow! five years already.). I remember standing in line for so long just so I can get my hands on the 60GB model. Best $600 dollars I spent. From being able to not only play PS3, DVDs, and Blu-Ray movies, this big guy is able to play PSone, and PS2 games. Not to mention that I can even go on the internet with it.
