Dragon Boat Game

I agree with nikkilovesbilly?s review of the Ni Hao Kai Lan Dragon Boat Race Board Game. It IS just plain silly! Yes, I know it is designed for preschoolers? but even preschoolers only want to play it once or twice and then they?re completely bored and done with the game all together! Luckily for me, I acquired it through a yard sale for about five bucks! The only reason I picked it up is because I participate in REAL Dragon Boat Racing and thought this would be a cute thing to have. My niece and nephew, having been some of my biggest fans on the sidelines as I am racing, were just as excited as I was to see this game. We opened it up and set it all up and started playing. We did get a good kick out of it, mainly because the kiddos thought it was funny to act like they were really racing the boats, chanting ?DIG! DIG! DIG!? as they made the boats surge repeatedly while they advanced to the next spot on the board. They also loved beating on the ?drums? in the game, again as if they were on a real dragon boat! I rate it 4 stars, more because Ni Hao Kai Lan gives my sport more exposure rather than actually for the game itself! view more

my 4 year old love this how

other then it being annoying in terms of it's music and annoying theme song in the mornings. my daughter who has a speech delay has picked up on some Chinese words not to brush up on some Chinese my self so I'm a head of my 4 year old view more

Great Show for Little Ones

My 19-month-old recently discovered Kai-Lan (we have it on Netflix) and he loves it. Whenever one episode ends he holds the remote in my face until I start another one. When he sees the toys or games in a store he gets very excited. It is a very cute and appropriate show for young children. view more

Nice Cartoon about Showing Emotions

My 2-year-old son and I enjoy watching Ni Hao, Kai-lan together and have for some time now. I laughed the other day when I did something he didn't like and he stomped his foot, raised his clenched fists and said, I'm MAD!". I thought - well, at least Ni Hao is teaching him about emotions and feelings. LOL. It is a cute show that does show children how to respond to conflict with friends and have respect for each other's feelings, and to listen. Good values for any child to learn. view more

Cute show, good lessons

This show is one of my 2 year-old's favorite cartoons. I have been really impressed that the lessons taught are not necessarily knowledge-based, but aimed more at behavior. My son has learned the "Calm, calm down" song quite well since we use it to quell temper tantrums. view more
