A truly gifted writer

Neil Gaiman has been among my favorite authors for some time now. His works are fanciful and dark and exquisite and quirky. He is not only one of my favorite word weavers, but also one of my seven year old daughter's - who is a fan of Mirror Mask, Wolves in the Walls, and Coraline. view more

Neil Gaiman, Author - Neil Gaiman

Neil Gaiman

I recently bought this book from Barnes and Nobles. It is part of their leatherbound classics serious. They are very nice books, but I dont think this author fits with the series. I think that classics refer to the old classics. I believe this guy is too young to be considered a classics author already. view more

Neil Gaiman, Author - I enjoy his work

I enjoy his work

I always enjoyed his comics, and recently I started to read some of his novels. I recently just finished American Gods. I enjoyed it, but at the same time wonder if comic books wasn't more of his element. It left me wondering a lot about the characters because there wasn't too much description of them. Also where subplots work really well in comics, some of the subplots in American Gods seemed pointless to me. If you've read it maybe you'll know what I'm talking about, but there are a lot of little short stories that pertain to the subject of the book, but nowhere tie into the story he's telling. Just my humble opinion though. view more

Imaginative, funny, engaging

I'm usually content to borrow books from the library, but whenever I see a new book by Neil Gaiman in the store I just HAVE to pick it up. I have yet to find one I don't like. Stardust , American Gods, Anansi Boys, Good Omens... from charming fantasy to sublime horror, his books are always fantastic. view more

I read Neverwhere a few years ago, and was utterly taken with its strange mix of fairy tale and horror. Gaiman manages to be witty and engaging while effortlessly sweeping you up with the plot. A completely captivating read that brings you into a temptingly rich world. view more

I Love Everything He Does

His books and short stories are an amazing mix of mythology, horror, and dark humor. His language is enthralling, and the twisting plots and involved characters only serve to pull you completely into his world. I think he is one of the most original and informed authors out there: both in the scifi/fantasy sphere and in mainstream fiction. view more

A gifted writer

This man is a storytelling genius. Most fans initially gravitate to him because of his tinge of spookiness (not unlike Tim Burton) but the real attraction is for his writing. If you read his books (which I highly recommend you do) do not neglect the comic series he wrote - The Sandman. It's glorious! view more
