Terrifc Sales I love looking through Macy's on my US shopping trips! Although I do find that most of there regular priced items are quite expensive (mainly because they are all name brands) they have terrific sales! If you can find something you like on a clearance rack you're laughing! I've gotten quite a few items on clearance at Macy's and have gotten a great deal on a name brand item! They also offer a Canadian tourist discount on certain items so be sure to ask about that when you go to pay! Although regular priced items tend to be pricey, they do have a good selection and as an added plus, I've never had to wait in line for a fitting room! One thing I would caution Canadian shoppers on is getting a Macy's credit card. I signed up for one to get an additional discount and the bills didn't come in on time due to the lag time in mail delivery between US and Canada. I was charged a large amount of interest on my bill, which was taken off, however, it was time consuming to get that removed. Macy's going down hill I feel that in recent years Macy's has had a bit of an identity crisis. It seems they are trying to target a younger customer but not implementing it well. At the mall by where I live before Macy's opened the department store used to be called Marshal Fields. Macy's !!! Macy's Department store is normally my number #1 go to for shopping. As of lately, I've noticed the customer service level has gone down quite a bit. I used to work holiday hire a few years back and during training they made it very clear the customer service was their # 1 priority, and the staff agreed. My favorite dept store! Macy's is a special treat for me to go to, because there aren't any close to where I live. I take advantage of being in a larger city by going in to check out their quality merchandise and go straight to the sale racks! Macy's Department Store The regular prices are expensive, but they have terrific sales! I love that they carry a good selection of quality merchandise in Plus-size clothes and hard to find bra sizes. Macy's - AKA Ross dress for less with de... The only redeeming feature of shopping at Macy's is the well kept cosmetics/fragrance section with the organized counters of pretty perfume bottles and overly made-up cosmetics ladies. Otherwise, the department store makes no sense. The clothes are often ransacked and what is left is only for the very small or the very large. Even clothes not in the sale section are poorly organized or just ugly. At least you get a good deal on clothing at bargain stores like Ross or Marshall's. view more	Aug 17, 2011	25
Great Juniors! Macy's Juniors department is my favorite. They have such a huge selection with many price points. I am almost never disappointed when I shop there. Macy's - Galleria Sage Store - Houston Macy's at the Galleria (Sage Street Store) has the best sales representatives. Their wonderful sales make it a affordable for men and women's clothing, most times with reductions of 90% off the regular price at this particular store. Macy's also keeps its customers supplied with discount cards to bring the prices down even lower. Big NO for Macy's I used to shop at Macy's a long time ago, but no more. Since Federated Department Stores took over it seems that Macy's has taken a turn for the worse, and shopping there is horrid. Every time I go in there the store is a mess, and I feel like I am shopping at a flea market. The sales racks are the worse. It never failed, whenever I would find an item that I liked I would go to try it on and there would be lipstick on it or a rip in it or a stain somewhere on it. Hard to believe that this item was allowed to be put back out on the floor to be sold, but the salespeople obviously don't care. The customer service is awful. The policies for returns are obnoxious, and the way the customers are treated is disgusting. The coupons are an absolute joke. What good is 15 or 20% off if everything that you want to buy is excluded? Certainly everything that I want to purchase is always excluded, and the language on the coupons is vague, so it's hard to figure out exactly what is or isn't excluded until you try to purchase it, and in my case it appears that everything that I want is on the exclusion list. When my Dad died we wanted to return some items that we had purchased for him for Christmas (he died before Christmas) and if you don't have that receipt God help you. They wanted to give me a lousy $3 for an item that normally costs almost $30.00 a piece. I asked them when did they have that sale when that item sold for $3 because we would have bought several dozen of them at that price! I have never, ever seen the item marked down to that price and I still to this day have never seen the item marked down to that price. That is what is called a rip-off. I called the manager and told them just that. I had to argue my case through multiple managers. At Nordstrom they don't ask me any questions. The customer service is phenomenal. I prefer that my shopping experience not cause a rise in my blood pressure. Sadly, the return of my Dad's gift was not my only bad experience with Macy's, and I have had friends who have had similar experiences. I am afraid that Macy's has lost a customer. Great Store Macy's is the place I go to shop. It has something for everyone but mostly for me. I love the coupons I get in the mail for being a Star customer. The wait makes me not shop there Horrible customer service!!!! I don't like pushy sales people and thats what you're guaranteed to get when you go here! They watch you like a hawk but are never quick to help you. I waited at the clinique counter for a good 20 mins while the sales woman sat on the phone chatting and laughing, I decided to leave when she got off and decided to acknowledge me. Customer Service? You might as well shop online if you plan on going to Macy's. The customer service is horrible. I went to two different stores one day with my wife and the only person that helped me was the one I had to drag away from an empty register so I could try on a pair of shoes. Macy's The local Macy's here in Maryland that I shop and frequent is middle of the road. The store use to be another department store years ago. The prices are ok but the looks and styles of the clothes seem very dated. The sales staff is very unhelpful for the most part and finding a check out register without a long line or someone to ring you up is always a challenge. I LOVE Macy's I am a huge fan of Macy's! I love shopping there and can spend hours going through all of their stuff. Their clothes are really cute and trendy and they carry Tons of amazing brands. I also love going through their handbag, shoes, and jewelry departments as well! And their sales are always so good! Macys I use to shop in Macys all the time. Our Macys on Long Island is disgusting and I do not even waste my time shopping. I go into Lord N Taylors becausse I know it is clean and I am able to try on clothes without feeling dirty or worry about what my socks are touching on the floor. A great department store, where you can ... I enjoy shopping at Macy's, particularly for clothing but sometimes for accessories, makeup, and home goods. They're really good about sending coupons out to credit card holders regularly, so if you're willing to use your card, you rarely have to pay full price for anything. Their main drawbacks are that the customer service is really poor compared to Nordstrom, and their sales floors are often disorganized. Left Heart Broken I have recently been looking for a fancy party/cocktail dress and went online to see where I should start my search. I randomly came across Macys.com and found they had some really good sales on dresses in plus size and juniors plus size and thought this is where I would start my search. I ended up going to a mall that had Macy's in it, but was a really weird set up. It had 2 Macy's in the mall that were on different sides of the mall. One store was Mens, Juniors and housewares, and the other was Woman's, Perfume and Purses. I went to the Woman's section to find NOTHING in my size. I asked a woman if she knew where the juniors plus size was and she told me it was in the other Macy's. I walked across the mall to the other Macy's and after hopelessly looking through dresses, my husband asked an associate about juniors plus size and was giving such a sassy answer that we instantly left. I was so heartbroken. I really liked a lot they had to offer online, but I do not feel comfortable not trying things on. I hate to say this may be my last visit to Macy's. view more	Apr 3, 2011	34
Love my store card but can't buy much on... Their card is great. I have a reasonable credit limit and not pushed to increase. I love shopping fragrances, handbags, and shoes but clothing seems to be an issue with me. They are too expensive. I am not willing to pay $80 for a pair of jeans that i can get from a discounted store same jeans. The variety is getting thin. Employees don't know what they are doing I hate shopping at Macy's. I avoid it. But occasionally, I have no choice (someone giving me a gift card). My most recent experience was similar to so many previous experiences at Macy's. Employees, if you can find them, do not know what they are doing and cannot handle anything more than a simple, straight purchase. I had to go in to get a price adjustment because I bought something in store, and saw it the same day cheaper on their website. I called and was told to go in person to get a credit. When I got there, it took an employee (actually 3 employees and 25 minutes) to figure out how to do a price adjustment. This should be a simple transaction. On the back of their receipt, it even says that price adjustments can be made in a 14 day period after the sale. It says so ON THEIR RECEIPT. Hence, shouldn't their employees who handle the register be trained to do this? They should also be trained to handle returns. But nope, that has not been in my experience. I also do not like their so-called "sales." The fine print excludes so many items that it's ridiculous. I hope I stop receiving gift cards to this store. view more	Mar 29, 2011	40

Snobs R US! I have been in Macy's a few times to check out their products. And EACH time I walk out... I just am amazed that their clothing and items are SO expensive. Do I really want to pay $145 for a pair of jeans? I can get a really good pair for just $45 elsewhere or even cheaper that will last just as long and look just as well. I just can't believe we value clothing THAT much that we allow such prices to occur. I'm surprised it's still in business. I do believe in good quality... but I can not see myself spending $500+ for an entire outfit. I bet I could find something elsewhere from head to toe for less then $100... including underwear. Life is too short... don't spend money on clothing that no one really cares WHAT brand it is... spend money on the starving and the struggling that don't have 2 nickels to rub together. Now... don't think that I'm just a "poor person". I'm not... I CAN afford to shop at this store... I just choose to put my money on better things. Love the linen department While I typically like Macy's, I find that each store in my area has such inconsistencies with the merchandise, if I don't exactly what I want in the first store, I now jsut give up and shop elsewhere. Good quality ... good prices... I think Macy's has good deals on clothes all the time and their bonus coupons make great deals even better. My brother-in-law recently bough a $600 suit for about $200 and Calvin Klein at that. I love Macy's Macy's is a bit pricier than other stores, but the clothing quality is good and they have a large selection. They have some pretty good sales, so if you buy your clothing on sale they aren't very pricey. Recently I bought a jacket there. It looked like the sale sign said they were 30 percent off so I bought it. It ended up costing full price ($79.99) so I thought I was overcharged. I took it up to the cashier once I realized it and she said the 30 percent off price was for the other jackets on the rack and not that one, but she said she would go ahead and give me 30 percent off anyway because the sign was confusing. Always find something that makes you fee... There really is magic in Macy's! I never leave empty handed and I always leave feeling so good about myself. No matter what your size, shape or age, Macy's will have a brand to fit your style and budget. There is almost always something great on sale (and for more savings, they send really good coupons to their card members!). Plus the sales associates are so courteous and helpful.
