I LOVE IT!!!!!!
This remote was the very first campaign my wife was in through BzzAgent. To this day I will tell people about it. I will buy a second one for the basement entertainment area.
The setup and macros were so easy to setup compared to the old $20 universal remotes. view more & comment

It's a boy toy
This is absolutely one for the guys. We've had this remote for about 2 years now I think, and although I like it, we don't always get along. My husband LOVES it, and has programmed it. It contains the icons for all our favorite channels, and he has even put in personal photos just saved on there. I personally don't need all the fancy buttons, but the men in my house are crazy about this remote. view more & comment
Best Remote EVER
This remote is light-weight, is backlight so the lights don't need to be on to see the buttons and it sure beats four different remotes! view more & comment

Easier than you think
As a home theater installer, I see people struggle with their home electronics every day. The more new stuff they add in, the more difficult it becomes to wrap your head around trying to just run your system. Most people are familiar with "universal remotes" but have seen the dinky $10-20 remotes that require you to use trial and error to find something that "might" control your home theater.
Enter Logitech's Harmony One, to the rescue! If you understand what connection everything needs to be on, and don't mind flipping your electronics around/over to find a model number, this bad boy gets set up in well under an hour and is ready to go. The Harmony Remote uses Logitech's online software (either included with the remote or free to download from www.logitech.com) to run you through the easy step-by-step process of programming the remote.
Even easier is running it. Instead of turning on your equipment piece-by-piece, the Harmony remote runs on "Activities", which is just a way of deciding what you want to do with your Home Theater. Interested on watching your favorite primetime show? Just hit "Watch TV" and the remote turns on the necessary equipment and puts everything on the correct setting. Ready to watch the latest oscar winner on BluRay? Just hit "Watch a DVD" and you're ready to go! The remote is so smart, it even has a "Help" button for those times when the remote signal is blocked by that special someone in your life. Just answer a few "Yes or No" questions and you're on your way!
If you're tired of the techno-stress of running 3-8 remotes just to watch TV, pick up the Harmony One. It's better than aspirin, guaranteed! view more & comment

Amazing Easy Best Remote Ever
Wow what an amazing remote. Set it up last night to work with my projector, receiver, blu ray, cd player, Xbox... AND my electric fireplace. I'm tempted to replace my light switches with IR controls so I can control them too. Absolutely amazing, and less than 30 minutes to configure. So easy to do I bet even my parents could do it. Just love this remote! view more & comment

Logitech Harmony 900: The last remote control you'll ever need
Radio Frequency (RF) technology is one of the best things a remote control can have. Since it doesn't need a line of sight to your equipment (like infrared does), an RF remote will let you control your system from anywhere in your home. RF is to infrared as DVD is to VHS ? a clearly superior upgrade. Yet RF has been around a long time, and the tech hasn't trickled its way down through consumer electronics like you'd expect it would, pretty much staying confined to high-end gear and custom systems. For most brands, remotes are accessories, commodities, add-ons ? not worthy of the latest and best.
Most brands other than Harmony, that is. The Harmony 900 remote control, which Logitech unveils today, is the only off-the-shelf remote control I've ever seen to include an infrared (IR) blaster system, which lets you use the through-walls magic of RF tech with your existing gear. Even better: The remote is as simple to set up as any other Harmony remote, since it uses the same Web-based setup system. All this, and a sleek touchscreen to boot.
I've been using the Harmony 900 for the past week and can honestly say it's the best remote control I've ever used, and that includes a couple of touchpanels. Read my hands-on impressions after the jump, and find out if it's really worth it's sticker-shocking $400 pricetag. view more & comment
Harmony One brings the Theater home
This brand has turned one of the more difficult activities into one of the easiest with their easy to use and intuitive system to programing remotes. This remote is so cool, I can hit play to watch a DVD and the lights will dim just like in a movie theater! view more & comment

This remote works great! We were able to make it work with all of our new components (the older ones were a wash). One of the best features is the self correction mode that guides you through by asking you what is on and what is off. view more & comment

My first reaction out of the box was WOW!! This is way too high tech for me, but to prove a point I let my 13 year old set it up and run it. It claimed it was so easy to do I thought why not? Just like the set up directions said it took about 30 minutes from start to finish and they were right!!!! I have spent a lot of money on very difficult gadgets in the past to use as a universal remote. Those stupid codes you have to punch in wait till the light flashes 3 times yada yada yada - what a pain in the RUMP!!! What I loved about this was it practically did all the code work via the computer and if we add another device all we have to do is plug it in and update it - very cool!!! Very setup friendly. This remote came at the perfect time. We had just updated out family room with a new digital tv, new dvd surround sound and sat dish system, plus I still had the old vcr hooked up for the kids old tapes. So as you can imagine I had 4 remotes laying on the table and not a clue how to use most of them. When the campaign came up for this I thought ok one more try - I am glad I did. I am able to run everything from the one remote. Then my sons friend came over and said do you know how much that thing costs. I replied that I had no idea and when he told me I about fell over in shock and disbelief. I looked it up on the best buy website and confirmed the price he had told me. Again - I was shocked. Honestly I never would have paid that if I had seen it in the store. Especially since I have had no luck with such things in the past, but once I used it I wanted another one for the bedroom. My total likes about this unit is that it lights up when you grab it - huge plus to me!!! It feels good in your hand when you are holding it. I have very big non dainty girl hands and it fits very comfortably in my hand. It is easy to use once you get the hang of it but all the buttons can be overwhelming at first. I did have a couple of dislikes about it. One thing was that I have a digital tv now and the new remote has a - button. This remote does not and I cannot tell if it is capable of it so when you have a channel 22-3 you have to go to channel 22 and push up 3 more times on the channe button. Minor, but annoying. Second is the tv screen(s) all 11 pages of them. The power button is on the 9th page. Page one would have been better. Third is that if I am on the sat dish and I need to change the volume because every darn channel has its own you have to switch back to the tv mode and adjust the volume and go back to the sat dish or vcr or dvd whatever you are watching. That gets to be old the tv volume should work for the tv period regardless of what device you have it on - not sure if that is possible, but it would be more helpful & I cannot use the menu button I need the old remote for that. All in all this remote as cool as it is has more buttons than I could possibly use.For people who have the picture in picture and whatever all those input buttons do I am sure it is great. The hassle free part of the set up and basic operation is great but I am not sure if I would shell out $250 for a remote that does way more than I need. view more & comment

Tonight my friend Hector was coming over with his brother-in-law Rey to help me fix my garbage disposal which has frozen in time. I don't really like the disposal because you need to constantly clean it out or it makes the sink smell funny.
Hector had a special wrench that loosens the disposal but he forgot it at Rey's house so they had a heated argument in Spanish while I looked confused.
After many trial and errors, Hector went back to his sister's house to get the wrench and Rey stayed with me to wait so I thought I'd take the opportunity to bzz the Logitech Harmony One.
I asked Rey how many remote controls he has at home and he said, "The normal number I guess, three or four." I told him that I have one and it operates everything! He gave me a curious look so I handed him the Harmony One and told him that as a bzzagent I got a free remote if I agreed to tell other people about it. Rey said, "How much is this remote?" I told him it's about $200. Rey said, "They GAVE you a remote control." After about twenty minutes of this, I finally logged on to the message board and let Rey read some of the rave reviews of the remote.
When he calmed down a little bit and really started looking at the Harmony One, he changed his tune. "So your A/C is on the same remote as the TV?" Before I could offer, Rey was bzzing around, turning the stereo on, turning the ceiling fan off, nodding his head in approval. Rey said, "How do I get one?" I laughed and told him that I have a coupon for a rebate or discount and there are some special promotions going on now so he can pick it up in person or online.
By that time, Hector came back with the wrench and with some watermelon that his sister had given him. We sat in the living room to have a snack and Rey showed Hector the remote. Hector said, "Yeah, we were talking about this last time I was here but my fingers are so big, I'll turn on three things at once." Rey said, "Dude, just do this" and showed off his deft touch. Hector said, "I like it but $200 on a remote is too much." Rey said, "I'm working like a damn dog, if I want something, I get it." I told Rey that with his three boys and all the TV and DVDs they watch, the Harmony One would probably be a big hit at his house.
Hector said, "I can see them fighting over it now." Rey said, "Well, we could use all the remotes and keep it interesting." Rey said, "You know, once you start using this, it lights up when you grab it, you can see the keys in the dark, it' not just a remote like you get for $12 at Walmart." Rey said, "How do you program all the stuff into it?" I explained the process of adding the information online and Hector said, "I wouldn't want to do that." I told Hector that the online thing wasn't working for me and I did it over the phone with a nice man so there's an answer for every problem."
Hector was sort of on the fence, but I could tell from the way Rey was taking ownership of the Harmony One, he was interested.
Rey said, "I'm going to take one of these cards" and he did! view more & comment

A couple of weekends ago, I was over at my in-laws and decided to stay for a late night in-demand movie. After much hemming and hawing, a movie was selected, but we could get the TV to produce a wide screen picture. Everyone tried to get it to work, but the excuses came: "all hooked up to the dvd player", "use the other remote", "the inputs are all wrong", "you NEED the other remote, etc.". I tried to fix it, to no avail, and finally said you need to get a universal remote like the Harmony One, so you can use one remote and get rid of all the others including 4 or 5 that belong to long lost electronic gadgets.
They decided to "think about it ", which means it will never ever happen! So this past weekend I brought my Harmony One over, rewired the electronics and proceeded to reprogramme it with their set up.
Armed with the "new" controller, i picked up all the excess ones (I counted 7!), and left the Harmony one on the sofa. My father -in-law comes in an says whats this-I told him its the remote i was talking about the other weekend and it's all hooked up an ready to give a try.
"Okay-what do I do?"
"Look at the screen and follow along "
"Hit Cable TV(renamed)?"
"Yes"
Low and behold the tv came on and worked. Next up, I said try a DVD. We placed a dvd in and one button later "Thomas the Tank engine" came on (nephews are in town for the summer!).
Next came the clincher, "how do we get the TV back on". Going back to the menu and clicking the TV button, and here comes the baseball game back on the tube!
So back and forth it went(playtime with the remote ensued), until my father-in-law said I've got to get one. I said no problem, this one is all programmed, i'll just get another one! At this point, he went to the computer and ordered one right one the spot. Mine got to come home with me, and he just got the new one and can't wait to get it to work.
So moral of the story, best bzz possible for HarmonyOne is to see it in action. What do they say "a picture is worth a thousand words", well just getting the picture out of one remote was worth just as much!

I shared the Bzz on the message board where I first learned of Bzz Agent. This is a dynamic group of ladies of all income levels scattered throughout the US (New Jersey to California). I typed up a great description of the remote and it's features. I exlained the use of the activities buttons and how they controlled the various items with one push of a button. I realized the price is a huge deterrent for a lot of the lower income folks, but pointed out that my family was going in together on one for my mother. I highlighted how easy it was for me to set up and use, and how for people w/complex systems, or for people who are technologically challenged, this remote is the absolute greatest thing to have.
I did not receive much feedback... but the feedback I did receive was mostly "I live without one now, why should I get one at such a price?" I responded back that the remote is one priceless component for your system. It replaces all other remotes, never needs batteries, and controls everything so seamlessly, you'd be amazed. Best of all was the ease of programming. I had mine set up in record time. view more & comment

I was having Direct TV installed and the installer asked me what I wanted to have added to the remote since it could be used as a universal remote. i told him that he could take the remote with him since I had the Harmony One. I told him that I was sure it would be able to handle the Direct TV box, and I already had everything else in it and I showed him the remote and he said "wow - this is the coolest remote I have ever seen" I told him that I agreed and he said that the touch screen was great and asked where I got it. I told him I was a Bzz agent and that I had gotten it as part of a WOM campaign and that he could get one online or at Circut City, best Buy or a bunch of other stores and I showed him how easy it was to use and switch between different things. He said "I gotta get me one of these - it is too cool" and I told him that if he ordered off the website he could save 10% and he took the information on that down and said he was definitely going to be getting one of them for himself. view more & comment

My husband was talking to his coworker Valerie, about how much he liked our new remote. He told her how easy it is to switch between activities with one remote and two buttons. She didn't believe him so he pulled up the website to show her how easy it was to do everything with one remote. She said she currently has six remotes because no one will do everything she needs. After going through how to program the remote on the computer, and its ease of use Valerie told him to tell her how much he liked it after all the bugs were worked out. He asked "What Bugs????? I haven't found any!!! She didn't believe him so he called in his two other coworkers who have already purchased the remote to back him up. Blake mentioned that it did in fact run everything, and had the other buttons you needed on the touch screen. Ashley added that she was able to go online and update the remote when her fiance bought a new TV. Valerie took our last coupon and plans on buying in the next week. view more & comment

Another great candidate for this remote...my dear mother! She is a total techno-phobe and absolutely hates when she's babysitting for us and one of the boys wants to watch TV. Why? The remote disaster! I can't count how many times I've felt like tech support on my cell phone while at work or out on a date with my husband because she can't figure out which remote turns the TV on, which button to push to play a DVD, how to change the channel...you get the picture! So...my Harmony One is set up and ready to go when she arrives for her latest playdate with my boys. We're getting ready to leave and I tell her that the boys can watch TV if they want. Enter the look of frustration...to which I say "But wait...you're gonna love this!" I hand her the remote. "Watch TV. All you have to do is touch the screen right there." Enter look of doubt that it could possibly be THAT easy...touch screen, on comes TV and Blue's Clues. Houston, we have landed! Enter look of total delight! I gave her the rest of the tutorial "Watch DVD" "Listen to Music" and showed her the help feature if it wasn't cooperating for some reason. Needless to say she was thrilled. No more stress and no more tech support for me! I then told mom I had received this from a Bzz Campaign and she thought it was the coolest idea for marketing. AND she loved the remote so much it's on her gift list for Christmas! And, for the record, my 6 year old can operate this thing too. We set up the favorites with his cartoon channels and he's ready to go. This remote is awesome...and my mom is totally sold! view more & comment

My step son Todd who likes gadgets thought this remote was . He came over to our house for lunch, and home made bread.
I was watching TV when he arrived and he immediately spotted the Harmony One (like I said, he loves gadgets and buttons etc) and asked if I'd bought a remote control. I explained that I was a BzzAgent and what that entailed, and that I'd been invited to participate in the Harmony One campaign.
I demonstrated how by pressing one button I could switch of all my components at once. To watch TV, I told him, I would normally have to pick up my Cox remote, press four buttons to switch on both the TV and the DVR player. THEN I would have to use the Surround Sound remote to switch the speakers and the sound on. Whereas, using one remote - firstly I switched all the necessary components off - (the Harmony One)I was able to press ONE button and turn on all the components necessary to watch TV or watch a DVD.
He was suitably impressed and I showed him the HELP available within the Harmony One, which definitely assisted me when I was having the surround sound difficulty (several times it refused to switch one, so there wasn't any sound), so I was able to correct the problem.
I actually expected him to rush out and buy one on his way home, especially as I was able to offer him a 10% off coupon or a 15% Mail-In-Rebate coupon, but he was staggered at the price and said he would never pay that much for a remote control.
I like this product: the ease of use, how easy it is to add components, update the software and settings, the vast database of brands and models; but the price is a major turn off. Drop the price by $100 and I think it would be a more viable prospect for consumers. view more & comment

I have waited to make this report hoping that I would eventually figure this remote out. I was so excited when I read about this remote because I hate having so many remotes. When we got it in the mail my husband immediately sat down to program it. He only had a half hour and was unable to get it programmed.
The next day he tried again. We both thought some of the wording in the instructions was awkward. They used the term "power toggle." This confused us. I always thought a toggle was something that moved back and forth. We were finally able to get the remote programmed. We tried it out immediately and it was able to control the DVD player (except to fast forward, it would only let me skip whole scenes), the VCR, the TV, the TIVO, and the surround sound. I was sooo thrilled. Then we tried to do an activity. I asked it to "watch tv" which was supposed to turn on the tv to input 1. It turned it to input 2. But it then asked if everything worked right. I said no then it changed inputs until it found the right one. I thought it was so cool that it could self correct and reprogram. So we turned everything off and tried again. It turned to input 2. We continued to use the remote and tried several times to have it program to the right input. We finally just started turning the remote to the side as soon as the TV came on so it thought it was changing the input but didn't.
I wondered about the terminology "ergonomic." I thought whatever, they just use that word for selling. However I soon learned that I loved the shape and feel of the remote. It did fit my hand perfect. But I did not like the placement of the buttons. They are all very similar in size so it as hard to FEEL which buttons I wanted to push when usung it in the dark. I forward through all commercials so I use the FF button frequently. I was never able to just FEEL it. I always had to shake the remote to make the buttons light up and then look to find it.
After several weeks of trying out the remote I finally just got out my old remote again. I was dissapointed with this remote but still have hopes. My husband says he is still going to continue trying to get the programming right. However if I had payed for this remote I would have returned it. view more & comment

Back when the campaign started for the Logitech remote, my mom and dad were over for dinner one night. They commented on how nice the remote was, and we showed them all the perks and specs, and my dad was just plain jealous! He said, 'I would love one! But, it's just so expensive!'
Well, fast forward to this weekend. It was my dad's birthday on Friday and we went over for cake and coffee. We all gave him presents, and then it was my mom's turn. My dad opened the medium size box and there was a Logitech Harmony One! My mom had bought him the exact same remote! She said, 'your father wwould not stop talking about that remote! I had to splurge. Plus, I like the idea of not having 5 remotes on the coffee table at all times. Less to dust and we will save in batteries!' view more & comment

I hosted a party over the weekend with a mix of friends. The party was to kick off the summer heat and included in my inviation was a portion called "My Bzz", everyone that RSVP'd to the party inquired about the Bzz portion of my invite and I told them to be prepared for a quick and fun presentation. Everyone showed up looking forward to my Bzz. I presented myself as a Bzz agent and told them I had recieved the Harmony One remote along with special offers that everyone would be leaving with. Before we served the food I jumped into my presentation about the Harmony One remote. I offered the remote to each guest so they could get a hands on experiance. They all enjoyed the ease of use the remote provided, however two of them were not overly keen on the touchscreen and noted some delay in pressing the screen and reaction time. I also offered a quick five minute run down on how to setup the remote via computer; everyone did enjoy that feature. I showed how easy it was to change the setup of the remote buttons and even how easy it was to change and update if I added new equipment to my entertainment system. The two that already knew about the remote were current Logitech remote users looking to possibly upgrade the old remotes they had; they took the rebate forms with many thanks. Two of my friends also liked the docking station of the remote and one absolutely hated the idea of having to 'dock the remote; just another thing for my kids to break' was her comment. I told her between my two children, two dogs and husband we had not had any problems to date. Of my friends attending four are working professionals and two are stay at home parents. Overall everyone liked the design and sturdy feel of the remote. I did tell them it has withstood several drops from the couch and slides across the coffee table. The best comment was from one friend of ours when he went to pick up the remote for the first time 'oh my gosh, it lights up, look at this guys, the freaking thing lights up when you pick it up'. He procceded to put it down and pick it up atleast five more times. In the end everyone had mixed reviews the worst of them being the possible broken docking station. One friend said they would be purchasing the remote as his own birthday gift. view more & comment

On Friday 06/27/2008, the DVR from our cable company (Charter Communications) just stopped working. I was very upset because it was programmed for my two favorite soap operas, The Bold and The Beautiful and The Young and the Restless. I called the cable company and went through a long drawn out procedure trying to fix it over the phone. FINALLY, they decided to send a technician out. Of course he said, "I'm sorry, this box is dead." So then he started the replacement process and following that he programmed the remote control. While he explained this to my husband I asked for the brochure that came with the new DVR. I retrieved the model number and went to my computer to program it for the Harmony One. The cable guy (Dave) then said "I'm sorry, but you have to use this remote, those universal remotes won't work with this box." I inquired "Why do you say that?" Dave responded, "I've been doing this for quite some time. This is a new box and I'm pretty certain it won't work on this." Knowingly I said, "You don't mind if I try do you?" My husband Clarence said "Man you really shouldn't have said that to her, my wife loves electronics and she always knows what she is talking about." So I pushed Watch TV" on the Harmony One and began changing channels, and programming my stories and other series I wanted to watch. "What is that?" inquired Dave. I immediately explained, "This is the Logitech Harmony One." It has the most comprehensive database of all audiovisual devices. It can replace up to 15 remote controls and if by chance I have difficulty programming it, I can get immediate customer service assitance by calling a toll free number. You guys would do good to provide it with your equipment." I then proceeded to tell him where he could purchase it. "How did you hear about it,?" Dave asked. I then proceeded to explain that I am a BzzAgent and further explained to him how the program works and that he too could become a BzzAgent. I went to my computer and provided him with a printout explaining The BzzAgent details. He said he was gong to Best Buy and get this remote control. He really liked it. view more & comment

Saturday I was working and I had a couple that I haven't seen in a long while...We got to chatting before they ordered and they where both very excited cuz they had just come from making a huge purchase, a 52 inch HD flat screen, to be delivered today (Monday)..they where so excited, ...so you know what I was thinking...Time to chat Remotes!!!
I asked them if they thought about getting a "special" remote for the new tv, and they said, "gosh we never gave it any thought"...so I went on to tell them about how bzz got me hooked on my new Harmony One...I told them a little about bzz and they said..."oh ya we remember that you did that"...I said oh ya, I'm hooked on Bzz!!!
I told them alot of the features and the man (gosh I believe his name is Eric...but it's been awhile since I waited on them..)..said he'd love to combine his 5 remotes...I said that would be no problem, I told them how Mike took all of ours and boxed them up, so now instead of our 5 we only have the one...and not once have gave us any problems...I also told them that the set up was easier than I thought it would be and "it walks you through everything"....
Eric (?) asked where he should look for one...I told him we just had a friend buy it from E-Bay for 165.00...I told them well worth the price and I siad for just getting a new tv it would be a great "investment"...They both agreed!! I also told them about some of the retailers that carry it and the price, but I said to bargin shop, some places sell it cheaper than the first....ect!!!
Then we started getting busy, but when they left, they said thanks for the tip they would check into the remote, and Eric (?) wrote the name down, so I took that as a good sign!!!!
I love it, and can't thank bzz enough for it!!! view more & comment

One of my co-workers purchased a new HDTV two weeks ago. He was telling us how confusing it was to operate all of the features from his universal cable box remote. He would turn the box off when he was trying to turn the TV on. I took the opportunity to tell him about the Harmony One. He asked me if he bought one would I set it up for him. I told him as long as he wrote down all of his equipment model numbers on a piece of paper before he started it was super easy to set up.
Well he bought one on my recommendation. He got it from Amazon so he didn?t need the coupon but got a very good price. He loves it and says he would never go back to an ordinary remote. His wife likes the one touch operation. Now he raves about it and has even told me about some menu features I wasn?t aware of.
