Wonderful and luxurious products

I had never used these products before and I am now a big fan. The shampoo has a luxurious lather and smells wonderful. I particularly like that it has a hint of mint (or eucalyptus.) The conditioner is is rich, creamy and detangles my hair easily. When my hair dries, it feels soft and silky. It makes my hair look and smell great. Highly recommended. view more

I have been using aveda products for years, but will no longer have to pay the outrageous prices, now that I have found root awakening! It smells so amazing, rosemary and eucaliptus, yum! I really feel that my hair is being cleaned through the scalp. It smells so good I always get compliments on it too! view more

Lovely products

I sent away for a sample of this stuff a while ago and finally got around to using it. The packet I got contained three samples - shampoo, conditioner, and "smoothing lotion," which I think is just fancy talk for "de-tangler." You know, kind of like how "immediate seating area" on a plane just means, "seat." Anyway, I gave it a try, and the trial packs were just the right amount for my hair length (a bit past the shoulders) and I have to say I was very impressed. My hair has been chemically treated and is often a little bit dry, but this little John Frieda hair care trio really made it feel soft and clean, almost like I just came from the salon. No idea how much this stuff costs, but I have a feeling it isn't cheap...so those who look for more economical hair care choices like Suave may be turned off by Mr. Frieda's price tags. Still, if ever you get the opportunity to try a free sample, definitely try it. I think it's a great product; I have no clue where you could buy full bottles of it, but I would certainly recommend it for those with dry or damaged hair. view more

Does great things for my hair

I bought this shampoo and conditioner because my best friend said it did great things for her hair. I was so happy I took her advice. The shampoo smells wonderful and cleans my hair very well. The conditioner makes my hair easy to comb out after washing. The scent stays in my hair unlike other shampoos/conditioners I?ve tried. Highly recommended! view more

All it took was a free sample for me to ...

I requested a free sample of the John Frieda Root Awakening shampoo & conditioner, and figured it'd sit in my sample basket/bin forever. One day when I was getting ready to hop into the shower I realized I was out of shampoo, and happened to grab the Root Awakening out of my bin. Oh. My. Gosh!!!! That little tear-away sample packet is all it took to have me hooked! The scent is SO clean and fresh and minty, but not at all overpowering! It was easy to brush my hair when I got out, and made my hair unbelievably soft. My hair is extremely long, almost to my waist, and pin straight. It didn't weigh my hair down or make it greasy, but gave it a nice lightweight lift and bounce. Not to mention shine and manageability. My skin is extremely sensitive, and sometimes when I use a new shampoo or conditioner, it will irritate my skin or make me break out. The John Frieda Root Awakening shampoo and conditioner didn't irritate my skin whatsoever! Sometimes I switch it up and use the Nourishing Moisture Shampoo with the Strength Restoring Conditioner, or vice versa. I have definitely noticed less breakage, fly-away's, and brittleness. The amazing smell coupled with the amazing results have turned me into a new fan for life! view more

Awaken those roots!

I did not know that there are 3 different Root Awakening shampoo products. I like the Strength Restoring one. The shimmery and pearly light greenish-white color shampoo lathers and cleans my hair and scalp well without drying out my colored/damaged hair. I follow up with the matching conditioner. This combo leaves my hair shiny and healthy looking. I find their minty scent is milder than Aveda Rosemary Mint. If you like a strong minty scent, maybe Aveda's is for you. But this one is cheaper, and I actually like the John Frieda's fragrance better than Aveda's. My hair feels still good even the next day. It is not every day that I find my "next day" hair to be manageable and soft. If you love Aveda Rosemary Mint shampoo but hate their price tag, try this one. view more

Wake Up Those Roots!

I'm already a fan of John Frieda hair products, but I discovered the Root Awakening line by accident. My John Frieda line of choice is the Full Repair, but the store was out of stock and I was in desperate need of shampoo. So I glanced to the left of the empty Full Repair shelf and saw Root Awakening. I read the description and, because I trust John Frieda products, decided to buy the shampoo on a whim. I loved it! The minty smell is great, and the tingle on your scalp feels nice. I was really happy with the results and returned to the store to buy the conditioner as well. view more

Fantastic shampoo and conditioner!

This shampoo and conditioner has been a godsend to my thin, fine hair. It smells lovely without being overpowering, it cleans my hair without stripping it, and it leaves my hair full and shiny without excess frizz. view more

Love this product

i LOVE strength restoring smooth lotion from this line. I prefer AVEDA products but they're too pricey. I received a sample in the mail of this shampoo, conditioner, and hair lotion. I have very thick, curly hair, prone to frizz. I use this after a shower on damp hair and allow it to dry naturally. It gives my AVEDA products a run for the money and I can often find awesome coupons too! view more

John Freida Root Awakening Products are ...

I received a free sample of John Freida Root Awakening shampoo and conditioner in the mail. I loved the products so much that I went out and bought a full size version of each. They have become my favorite shampoo and conditioner. I don't know if they perform any better than other products but they smell fantastic. The shampoo is thick and rich. The conditioner doesn't weigh my hair down, which is a biggie for me because my hair is pretty fine and I need all the volume I can get. view more

The best thing to use for those with unm...

My hair was so unmanageable before i started using John Frieda Root Awakening. After i used it a few times i noticed a little difference in the feel, healthiness & everything was just so much better. After using it a 1 1/2 i noticed a bit change with it. My hair was so much easier to maintain,over half of my fly always was gone,also seemed like my hair had a little life at the roots & the smell of the product is just awesome. Amazing!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product. It is 2nd on my top 5 shampoos/hair products and I carry the ENTIRE line in my bathroom. The scent is amazing, the FEEL is even more so. It's like semi tingling in the shower, I love it. The only other thing that tops the scent and feel is Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree line, and I wouldn't be surprised if Root Awakening got some inspiration for the line. It certainly is affordable, and I enjoy getting my friends hooked on it! view more

John Frieda Root Awakening

I received a free trial sample of John Frieda Root Awakening shampoo and conditioner at walmart.com and it is amazing!!! Not only did it make my dry hair moisturized, my entire scalp got a nice tingly sensation, especially with the conditioner. And the scent is great! The product itself may awaken your roots, but the smell awakens the scenses!!! I am definately a fan of this and will find it hard not to buy it from now on. view more

Actually gives your hair new life

I never really intended to buy these, as I knew they were more expensive than the other choices at the grocery store. One day I received a free trial, I had nothing to lose by trying it, so I did. The trial I received was the one with the shampoo, conditioner and serum little pouches. When I was drying my hair I noticed how different it was "behaving". I did also notice while I was washing my hair, that the aroma and feeling was pretty relaxing and "spa-like". That was last year. Today, there is a year's supply of this shampoo and conditioner sitting in my bathroom, because I don't plan on switching to something else anytime soon :) view more

I have been using John Frieda Root Awakening shampoo and conditioner for almost a month. Did not see any improvement in my hair. My hair still tangles a bit when it gets dry. I was hoping it can make my hair softer or smoother, but the result is not impressing. I have a $2 conditioner that works better. view more

I have purchased department store brand make up in the past. After using this make up, my skin looked amazing. I received so many compliments on my smooth skin. John Frieda root awakening products are amazing! After my last baby was losing my hair and it was very thin and rough. Root Awakening Smells Great and Makes my...

I love the John Frieda's Root Awakening Shampoo. The first thing I noticed about the shampoo is that it smells amazing. It feels great when you apply it and you can see the difference after you dry your hair. The only problem I have with the Root Awakening is the conditioner. It always makes my hair look greasy. It doesn't matter how much I use or how long I leave it in for - every time I use the conditioner my hair looks greasy. I love the shampoo, I just wish something could be done about the conditioner. view more

Nothing Special

Love John Freida Root Awakening!

I originally received the root awakening shampoo and condition as a sample from their website. I'd loved it so much that it is the shampoo and conditioner I am continuing to use. Usually conditioners leave my hair flat, but the root awakening leaves my hair soft, shiney and NOT flat! I also love the scent of this product, it smells like a spa. view more

My hair definitely seems healthier

I really tend to buy salon brands for my hair care needs, I have found that they tend to work better for my hair type. I gave the Root Awakening shampoo a go on a whim and I'm really glad that I did. It has impressed me very much, especially based on how affordable it is. It leaves my hair feeling clean, soft, almost fluffy (yay volume!) and it really seems as if the health of my hair has improved since I started using it, not to mention I am noticing more length and less breakage. view more
