knowledgeable staff I have always been a fan of Home Depot, but since I moved to Kentucky I find myself making most of my purchases at Lowes because they have had the better selection or prices. However, if you have any questions you are better off not asking them at Lowes. I have gotten some of the craziest answers from the sales people at Lowes. Home Depot I am not a fan of Home Depot at all. I have never, ever had a pleasant experience at one of the stores. We are never able to find a knowledgbe worker, if we can ever find anyone to assist at all. Home Depot a great plaCE to shop This is really a great home improvement store. I have been shopping here for years. I must visit at least weekly. Love their selection on gardening products. As well as their home items. If I ever have a problem with an item I can always return it & I get my money back with a receipt & if I do not have a receipt I receive store credit. Do not know of a home improvement store that can do this, do you?? Also, when you receive a receipt you can enter a survey for a chance to win a gift card. home depot I recently visited home depot. I hadn't been there in a long time. I go to "other" stores which I will not name because they are closer. Not saying they are not good. I have a project I'm working on and I've spent more than I thought it would cost on it. I just found out at home depot that majority of the items I bought from the "other" stores were a lot cheaper at home depot. Customer Service around Every Corner My husband and I are currently buying a house. When his parents had visited us they had taken us to Home Depot to buy us some supplies and a washer and dryer. We ended up going to Home Depot twice and both times were amazing. I was walking around on my own and had been asked a numerous amount of times if I needed help, and everyone had a big smile on their face and ready/willing to help. We didn't end up buying the washer and dryer yet due to the closing being pushed back, but we got a gift card so I am anxious to see how the whole process of purchasing the washer and dryer as well as delivery will go which I will write another review, but so far I am very pleased with them. view more	Oct 5, 2011	30
The Home Improvement Go To Spot Any time I have any kind of home improvement project I always go to Home Depot. They have the best prices and best selection of products to make any project a success. I also like that they have both home improvement and buildign materials but outdoor improvement materials as well. Great Improvement We used to not go to Home Depot because we could never find anything or get any help. We just bought a house and they are the nearest store. We were pleasantly surprised that their service has greatly improved. Every time we go in, several associates will offer to help us. I Live at Home Depot I don't work for Home Depot, but I could! Name something you're looking for and I can tell you what aisle it's in. Also, we take our girls there the first Saturday of every month for kid's craft day. They have a new wooden craft every month, and each kid gets a Home Depot apron and after the completion of each project, they receive a pin and a certificate of completion. My oldest daughter has 20 pins on her apron that she wears with pride, and it's all free. It's actually a genius idea to draw parents in to the store at least once a month - the kids get bribed with a free take-home project that they get to nail/glue/screw/paint and while you're there, may as well pick up that (fill in the blank) that you need! view more	Sep 23, 2011	16
Great Associates I love Home Depot! I began building furniture the beginning of this year and found the lumber and all tools needed to complete each project. Don't Like Their Policies Home Depot is the closest home improvement store to us, but we will not be shopping there until they stop promoting social issues. I wish companies would just stay silent on social issues but as long as they are being vocal, I will be shopping elsewhere. Never disappointed There's really nothing bad to say about home depot yet. I've been shopping at Home Depot and Lowe's a lot lately because we've been working on our house a lot. You usually always find what you need (as long as you remember what you actually wanted to get while you're in the store). Don't bother asking for help While the store has descent prices and generally good selection. The last few times I went, they didn't have the one item I was hoping to find. If you ask for help, you will either feel like you are bothering someone or expect to get inaccurate advice. For example I wanted to buy certain size staples and was told they didn't have them. Terrible customer service. If they would improve their customer service and clarify "site to store" shipping policies, I MAY change my reviews. Their website stated that my local store had the microwave I wanted in stock, so I went to buy it. Of course they didn't have it and was told by one of the sales clerks that the company will do that so we go into the store anyway hoping we buy something else. So I decided to order it online and do the site to store shipping. The website specifically states it does offer that service. When I called, the girl didn't even know what it was! Best Savings and Products in Town We are currently in the middle of a huge kitchen, bath, and house remodeling project. We have a few small hardware stores left in town and every time I visit them they either don't have what I am looking for or the prices are marked up. I actually quit going to our local hardware stores because I know that I can find what I am looking for at Home Depot and most of the time it's a lot cheaper. I even went out of town to Menard's and Lowes, just to compare products and prices. I was disappointed by both stores and now I just stay in town and by my supplies from Home Depot. Home Depot Home Depot is our go to for all our home improvement products. Great store, great prices - but they do have an issue with their telephones. There never is anyone in a department that can answer your call. Instead you have to drive to the store and physically locate someone. Pro Desk Services We did a complete gut rehab on a 3 story home. There are several improvement stores around and we chose going to Home Depot for our materials and services.. Each experience has been really great. We went to the pro desk and they informed us that if we submit a supply list, they will give us a bid on the amount. We recieved the bid which was about 20% off of list on most things. We then price compared the items to other stores and they met and actually beat that price. We saved a ton using their services. They arranged for our contractor to pick up the items and dealt with payment easily. Then we went on to their website and they had a 10% off movers discount up to $200! Great prices, bad help We have several home improvement stores around and have tried going to Home Depot several times for large purchases because their prices are usually a little better. Each experience has been a nightmare. We wait forever for someone to come help us after pushing the call button and then they can't answer our questions and don't know anything about what they are selling. One time we asked the difference between several models of refrigerator; they appeared to have the same specs as far as we could tell, but there was several hundred dollars difference in price. When we asked the guy that worked there the difference, he just said, "I dunno, the price?" Then he laughed and walked away. We left and went to a competitor and found the answer to our question. Horrible customer service I really used to like this store, but my last experience suoppies acked big time, and it took them forever to fix the problem, I had ti call corporate, and even then they said they would call me monday and didn't do it, they call me 5 days later... And not even apologized about their big mistake. The transaction was a stove which was bought and supposed to b delivered on wed. It didnt happened... Of course I called the following day, and after a bunch of tranfering, have to leave a message, they didnt call back until friday, telling me it was suppossed to b that day, it didnt happen. Great store! We have redone several rooms in our home. LHome Depot is a mile from our home so we have used them a lot for our shopping. Staff was extremely helpful and patient I was at home depot this weekend looking to buy a cherry tomato plant. I have never attempted to grow anything before so I was absolutely clueless. Took a minute to find an available worker but as soon as I explained what I wanted he walked me through everything. I asked a couple "dumb" questions (I'm 23 and don't know anything about gardening), the guy was very nice about it and took the time to explain to me what I needed and WHY I needed it. Great for plants! Most people think of Home Depot as a place to buy wood or power tools, but they also have a great selection of plants, whether it be vegetable seedlings to put into your backyard garden or some potted plants to cheer up your interior decor! Home Depot did it again My Home Depot equals Charitable Giving with a Smile. I have gone to Haiti on construction missions (and others) for several years now. Every time we go for construction we know that at some point we'll end up painting. Home Depot ALWAYS donates paint items, ie brushes, rollers/covers, paint rags, gloves, for me to take with us to save money there. the BEST home improvement store around! Wow, what a surprise to see that so many people on here have had a bad experience with Home Depot. My local Home Depot is fantastic! We also have a Lowes and Ace in very close proximity. Neither of them comes close to handling the amount of products and great prices that Home Depot has! Whether it is paint, patio, plumbing, or wood, they have you covered. I've found the staff to be very polite and knowledable also. The store itself is very well laid out and it is easy to navigate and find the things you need. The employees are very helpful and knowledgeable. quick fix to a problem I had bought a washer at homedepot in morristown and when I got it home I realized to my utter dismay that it was worse than the one I had thrown out. I contacted them immediately ready to put up a fight if they gave me any problems about swapping it out. After the call I had the problem fixed no problems to it. I have Boycoted Home Depot I refuse to go to Home Depot and my friends and family have boycotted as well. In general the associates have no product knowledge. The employee who worked in the electrical department one day will be in the garden center the next. I don't mind someone answering "I don't know" to my questions, but the associates at Home Depot will just make something up. I have even had "I think this should work" to an ELECTRICAL question! But the main reason I despise HD is that they lied to me to sell me a $1500 tractor. I was told numerous times that they carry replacement parts (ie, belts, blades) and when it came time they didn't nor did they ever. I did an expirement and shopped 4 HDs in the area saying I was in the market to by a tractor.
