FURminator

FURminator Logo The thinking behind the FURminator deShedding Products is simple logic ? the more hair you remove from your pet, the less hair you need to remove from your couch, your clothes, your floors, your carpet, your car and your home. But typical pet grooming products do not address the underlying problem, your pet's undercoat.

FURminator - I never dreamed it could work so well!

I never dreamed it could work so well!

I was skeptical about buying a FURminator. After all, they are a little pricey for "just a brush" I thought. I have a corgi (and a mini dachshund, golden retriever and 3 cats, but the corgi is the special one) who has a double coat- which means she sheds, all the time. Always. I would brush her and then have to brush her to remove the coat the brush left behind, then brush her again, and again- well you can imagine. I finally bought a FURminator, with the warning from a groomer-friend who said to use it outside. Oh..My...Gosh. I wish I hadn't waited so long to buy one! The amount of dead coat it removes is incredible. All the animals (even the cats) act like using this brush on them is the most glorious act I can do as an owner. We literally have cat fights over who gets brushed first. I am incredibly pleased with this product. It's held up well, it's still effective now that I've had it two years and we are no longer drowning in a sea of dog and cat fur! It is will worth the money and comes in several sizes so you don't have to worry about trying to rake an Akita with a chihuahua sized brush! view more

FURminator - The only grooming tool you'll ever need

The only grooming tool you'll ever need

I love this tool and so do my dogs and cats! It does an excellent job of removing excess hair from their under coat. I take a day every few months and I brush each animal. The best part is that the animals enjoy the grooming (even those animals who never liked to be groomed). It works great to keep long haired cats from getting tangles. Also, the animals always look very shiny after they've been groomed. view more

FURminator - Did That Really Come Off of You?

Did That Really Come Off of You?

Our local pet store had a video running of the FURminator on a loop. After seeing it a few times, I bought it on a whim, as our oldest cat is a shedmonster. Though initially cross with it, as I imagine it felt weird, he then got into it. Cheek rubbing, belly flops, "Get me over on this part" motions. I pulled enough hair off of him that when I piled it, it looked like he'd had kittens. His fur is much softer when I use it, and when he sees the brush he comes trotting over. Our middle cat will allow a few strokes before running, and the youngest bites it, but for all the vacuuming and lint-rolling it's saved me on the oldest cat, it is worth it, wort it, worth it. view more

FURminator - Great way to reduce shedding

Great way to reduce shedding

I love this product! An excellent tool that is worth the cost for those who live with pets and the hair they shed. Especially useful for "double-coated" (with dense undercoat) pets. Great for grooming at home and for the "in between groomer visits" for those who go to groomers regularly. The short fine tines reduce the chance of injury to pet and groomer. view more

FURminator - It's the best on the market

It's the best on the market

It's the best on the market for a dog brush, but our dog sheds like crazy no matter what we do. This is one of 3 brushes I use and is the main one. It works well to get the undercoat but it doesn't stop the shedding amount. I guess I can't imagine how much she would shed if I didn't use it... I don't think it can be your only tool to reduce shedding, I think you also have to get a tool that works on the top coat alone as well. view more

FURminator - Pet must be clean and matt free

Pet must be clean and matt free

I bought a Furminator for our two dogs, one short-coated and one thick, fluffy hair. Dogs must be clean and matt free for it to work. I think dirt will dull the blade as well as just catching in it. Neither dog like the Furminator compared to other brushes, but I work slowly with it and it does remove undercoat. VERY expensive for what it is. view more

  FURminator - Pricey, but effective

Pricey, but effective

When I first got my Golden 5 years ago, I was skeptical at this product. I had a rake, which is traditional for removal of the undercoat. I tried a friends of mine and was amazed at the amount of hair it removed. I went a bought one the next day and have been using it for years. This winter her under coat got so thick, it didn't seem to matter how much I brushed. I took her to a groomer, and they were not happy I was using this. They commented it does not remove nearly as much of the under coat as we think. She used a traditional rake and removed so much of her undercoat! It's still a good product, but now I use it in combination with a rake and have been having better luck at keeping her under coat under control! view more

Greatest tool to keep the hair down

This tool is fantastic. I watched a video on it and was not 100% convinced to buy it, but my roommates complained about my cat's shedding. I have no regrets about buying it. I've had mine for over 3 years and the inner blade is still going strong. What it does is it gets to the inner fur that is shedding. The kitten loves it, he purrs every time I bring the furminator out. view more

FURminator - Decent but not Necessary

Decent but not Necessary

I do think the FURminator is a good product. However, I don't think it is worth the money for what it does. My kitty sheds like mad no matter how often I brush her, no matter what tool/brush I use. I could brush her for hours and fur would still come out. I will stick to cheaper tools that do the job just as well. :) view more

FURminator - Got fur? Furminate it!

Got fur? Furminate it!

We've got a cat who sheds like crazy. Some days it seems like we could make a whole 'nother cat with the amount of fur we pull off him. And he's a husky boy, too, which means there's even more fur than normal. We thought we would be brushing fluff away forever. But someone told us about the FURminator, and we rushed out to buy one. Oh. My. Gosh. What an amazing product. It pulls loose fur off him like crazy, and in an efficient way. But it doesn't make his skin irritated--in fact, when we take the FURminator out, both cats AND both dogs run over to get brushed! Now if only I could think of something to DO with all this extra fur, I'd be all set! view more

Well worth the price

The FURminator is amazing! I was a little skeptical about spending so much money on it, but I finally took the plunge and it was a great investment! I used to spend $20 a month to have a deshedding treatment for my Golden, but that is completely unnecessary now! I've saved a lot! view more

  FURminator - Fur be gone!

Fur be gone!

I bought the Furminator when it was on sale at Petsmart. It had a 30 day money back guarantee and since my cat has long hair and sheds incredible amounts I thought I would give it a try. It definitely gets more hair out when brushing than a normal brush. My only problem was that we got a little carried away and my cat had a bald spot on his side and his tail was a little scraggly because we brushed him too much and removed too much hair. It was nice because it didnt create the static electricity that most brushes do but just be cautious when brushing so you dont brush too much! view more

FURminator - your pet can be furminated FUREVER

your pet can be furminated FUREVER

I like this product but it is really expensive and I am not completely convinced that it works. I have a fiarly short hair dog and it seems like I can brush her forever and be in the same position. She starts to not like it. My other dog has longer hair I think it just gets the undercoat but still sheds a lot after. Also, if you get the smallest one and the blade breaks you can not replace theblade you have to replace the product. I don't spend $60 for a brush of my own I probably would never buy one again. view more

Ideal for shedding dogs

Now that I have a furminator, I would never be without one. Although they are somewhat pricey, they remove huge amounts of hair with little effort. My retriever loves being brushed with it. The more hair I can get off him while brushing, the less hair I will need to remove from the floor later. view more

FURminator - Even short-haired dogs will benefit from this fabulous tool!

Even short-haired dogs will benefit from...

Working as a vet tech, several of our clients recommended the Furminator to those of us who had pets with a lot of shedding hair. Even my three dogs were short-haired, I often had loads of hair on my carpet (enough to vacuum twice a day!), furniture and in my car. I finally decided to spring for the Furminator and crossed my fingers as I was not accustomed to spending "that kind of money" on a dog comb! The first time I used it, the Furminator paid for itself. When I was finished with the first dog, I was left with a pile of dog hair almost as big as the dog himself! Since then, I use the Furminator on my dogs weekly, I always manage to get lots of fur from their undercoats, and my need to vacuum has gone WAY down. The Furminator is so solidly well-made - I expect it to last my lifetime. I highly recommend this - EXCELLENT investment! view more

Great deshedding tool

I was a bit skeptical when we bought this tool but I was quickly sold with just one use! We have a golden retriever and anyone who has one knows that means a lot of hair! Very Effective, If Your Pet Will Tolerat...

I bought this to use on my Siamese/Maine Coon mix cat, since her fur is VERY thick but short and she sheds like crazy. The FURminator works amazingly well on her coat- in one grooming session I can brush out enough fur to fill a plastic grocery bag. Definitely make sure you use it outside though, since the fur makes a pretty big mess. My only major problem with it is that my cat will only tolerate it for so long before she revolts. She doesn't enjoy it like she does her regular brush. view more

  FURminator - LOVE my Furminator

LOVE my Furminator

I absolutely love the Furminator. I have a terrier mix and when I use the Furminator on him I am amazed at how much excess fur comes off of him ( and subsequently won't end up on my clothes, furniture, etc.) My dog loves to be "Furminated" -- when I reach for the tool he comes running! It's like a little puppy massage for him and keeps the shedding to a minimum for me. I would recommend this to anyone with a shedding pet. view more

one furry dog, not so furry house

I LOVE the furminator line of products. We have a mixed breed dog that sheds like nobody's business and the furminator line has helped us keep our house and baby dog hair free. The shampoo and hair releasing conditioner are amazing and smell great, when used with the brush we can keep our dog virtually shed-free for 3-4 weeks or longer depending on the time of the year. if your dog sheds, buy this line or find a groomer that uses it, it is worth the money. view more

Somewhat effective - if the animal likes...

The FURminator is a very effective grooming tool but only if the cat will allow you to brush them. The actual grooming process is a little long, but hopefully the animal you're brushing is relaxed and into the whole process. Works fabulous when you use it properly! view more

  FURminator - Very Effective

Very Effective

I purchased one of these on the recommendation of a friend who has cats. Having three myself, I figured it was worth a try, even though it was priced significantly higher than the no-name and competing brands. The choice proved correct - it was worth it. One of my kitties loves me to use this on her. She is older and can't reach her back by her tail very well any more. This feels great for her! My younger cats don't shed as much and have little to no interest in me using this on them. My sister also has a lot of cats and her really big one goes crazy every time she busts out the Furminator. He would let you use it on him all day long. He is in full on kitty bliss! I would definitely recommend this to anyone with dogs, cats or other pets that shed. It really helps keep the fur off the bed, couch, etc. view more

This works and is a good investment!

The Furminator is a great tool and works really well, depending on the type of coat that your dog has. That being said, buy it online for a better value then in a Petsmart or Petco. You will pay a lot less for it. Also it is better to shell out the money for a furminator that you can use at home rather than get the Furminator treatment at the groomer. The groomers only use it for 15 minutes (if they aren't super busy) and the amount of money you will save by not getting the package will more than pay for the Furminator tool in no time. view more

To FURminate, or not to FURminate

I received a FURminator through a dog blog promotional giveaway. I had planned on purchasing a FURminator anyway, so I was absolutely thrilled with this win! I have so many grooming tools, and none of them seemed to help my very furry Pomeranian between professional grooming appointments. I finally started adding the FURminator treatment at my dog's salon, and problem solved! Unfortunately, the groomer tacked on another $15 per groom for the treatment, so it was clear that I needed my OWN FURminator at home! This fantastic tool is literally paying for itself! view more

  FURminator - Happy husband

Happy husband

My husband's wardrobe pretty much all in black. Our dog is mostly white, and wow can she shed. Every morning before work my husband would have to use a lint roller on his clothes before leaving. He went out and purchased this of his own accord, and he is a much happier person for it. Our house is dog hair free, and she's so much nicer to pet now. It makes her coat feel much smoother and shinier. It was a decent amount of money, but we'd buy it again in a heartbeat. view more

Furminator = Furbulous, I mean FABULOUS!

We have a Pembroke Welsh Corgi and a Border Collie/PWC mix and they both shed what seems like their body weight in fur daily! We're constantly brushing them and vaccuuming. We recently purchased the Furminator after hearing rave reviews from a friend with a German Shepherd, and it was on sale. Why did we wait so long?? It's fabulous. Both dogs seem to shed much less, and their coats are softer since it takes out most of the rough undercoat. If we use it once or twice a week, we've seen a vast improvement over brushing them several times a week with a normal dog brush. And they seem to enjoy the feel of it, I think it helps their itchy winter skin. view more

Essential Tool!!!

We have a giant schnauzer who sheds a good bit, especially when he's almost due for a new grooming. And, he's a puppy, so he gets lots of baths, which also contributes to additional shedding. And, the furminator is great! We brush him when we bathe him because it's much easier to get the tool through his hair then. It's so funny--the day or two after we use it, we'll get these clumps of hair off of him when we pet him. The furminator is great! Less Hair on the Floor

I didn't believe in this until I actually tried it out on my cat, who is short-haired and yet still manages to get fur everywhere. Needless to say, he sheds a lot less when I use the Furminator, which gets down into the deeper parts and combs the fur out. The infomercial is correct that you will see a LOT of fur come from your little pet. Mounds and mounds that come out now, so you don't have to sweep it off the floors later. Be careful not to brush too hard though because it is a tool that works by cutting the fur a little bit. Also, after a while of hard brushing, the kitten can be a little irritated by it, even though he also loves it when I bring it out. view more
