In 1999, Crispy M&M's were released. They were slightly larger than the milk chocolate variety and featured a crispy rice center. They were discontinued in the United States in 2005, but they are still available in Europe, Australia, and southeast Asia

M&m's cookie recipe Red?s Ultimate M&M?s Cookies Adapted from Red?s Favorite Recipes Makes around 3 dozen Ingredients 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter or margarine, softened 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar 1 large egg 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/8 teaspoon salt 1 12-ounce package M&M?s Chocolate Mini Baking Bits Method Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy; beat in egg and vanilla. In medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; blend into creamed mixture. Stir in M&M?s. Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10-13 minutes or until edges are lightly browned and centers are still soft. Do not overbake. not too crazy about these I tried these when they first came out. I love m&m's: plain, peanut, peanut butter and almond. But some of these more 'exotic tastes' I'm not as crazy about. Anecdote So my husband and I were walking through target the other day and we realized that Crispy M&Ms have disappeared. I don?t remember hearing they were going to discontinue them but all of a sudden they are no more. My husband being the M&M fanatic that he is was very disappointed. I was too as I always liked them.
