Blackberry = Useles

Switched from an Iphone to a blackberry a few months ago when my Iphone broke. I do not like the blackberry. I find the phone is very slow compared to my Iphone. The pictures I take are not as clear. It shuts off for no reason sometimes and the battery dies really easily and takes forever to charge. Not worth any money amount of money. view more

Blackberry: The comunication device

Blackberry has had a lot of negative press lately. For this, i do not know why. I have used all of the three major devices; Android, iPhone and Blackberry. My heart lays with the Blackberry Bold 9930. This device is just what a cell phone should be; a communication device. I get unsurpassed email, and texting. BBM (blackberry messenger, is a major draw. You get unlimited character texting with file support. Free to any BB user worldwide. With its 1.2gig snapdragon processor and 768megs of ram this phone is unstoppable. view more

Blackberry crackberry blueberry whoberry

I have a blackberry curve and although I do like it, it pales in comparison to my husband's I-phone. I am more of a "social" person so the social aspect of blackberry is great for me however the number of apps aren't comparable to i-phone, my system is much slower, its more difficult to access frequently used items and I can't send or receive MMS on my phone! Who the hell can't send a picture on their phone? Me, that's who and I never would've bought it if I'd known that. view more

Blackberry User

I've always been a Blackberry user since I can remember - usually because my work provides them to me for free but I can't imagine being without one :) I have a Blackberry storm and its great although it freezes from time to time but I am a power user so this could be part of the problem as i'm not really patient in waiting and always trying to get onto the next task quickly. Apps are also getting better as they are trying to compete with others. Don't see me ever switching! view more

  Blackberry - Blackberry Family

Blackberry Family

I have been a Blackberry user now for four years and like some others i like it just wish it had couple more features. i started six years ago with my first smartphone a i always loved Motorola but i hated the windows operating system on the phone. when my contract was up i went to the blackberry and have not regretted it. i know some of the other OS platforms have some cool features but what i like about the blackberry is the security. my wife has an android for work im just not impressed with the security and the fact they recommend an antivirus and internet security app. while i do keep my phones updated i also watch what i download. over all i really like the phones and cant wait to upgrade to the next generation of blackberry's in few months. view more

Blackberry - Crackberry? More like BrokenBerry!

Crackberry? More like BrokenBerry!

I got my first Blackberry about a week ago, and it's terrible. The stupid little scroll button never works. I can barely navigate the menus, never mind just read the news. I don't ask a lot at all from a phone - I'd like to be able to make phone calls and send text messages, and read the news on occasion. It would be a plus if I could read my e-mail. On this phone, I can't do any of these things, except maybe send text messages. In addition to that, the light on it is always blinking a million little colors. It blinks when I have an email, when I have a phone call, when the battery is charged, when the battery is NOT charged, when I have a text message - basically, all the time. I just bought this phone but I'm already counting the days until I can get a new one. view more

  Blackberry - blackberry flip

blackberry flip

Im already on my third blackberry flip. Now to some, this may look bad. But others may take it as a sign of my love and devotion. The latter is true. While I have broken two previously- I am quite rough on my phones. I drop them constantly and text in the bath making them all wet and stuff. It takes a long time before all this wear and tear is able to bring them down. much longer than all my previous phones. plus, I like how its fancy but not too fancy. I could surf the web if I choose to, but I dont even have that option on my plan because my laptop is always an armslengh away. That being said- this phone does what I need it to do- talk, text and wake me up in morning. view more

  Blackberry - Once a Crackberry

Once a Crackberry

I love and hate blackberry phones , I have gone to other platforms because of serious issues with many platforms. I wish that blackberry would make stable patforms for the semi old models so that it doesnt make the consumer crazy. And on not of that they need more apps in the BB app world. It saddens me that BB app world almost has no apps still and how many years it has been their. Forgetting everything I typed I stil love blackberry its priceless at the same time. view more

Blackberry - Love Blackberry Curve and Blackberry Style

Love Blackberry Curve and Blackberry Sty...

I have two blackberry phones (the curve and the style) 1 for work, and one for personal use. I love them both, they are probably the best phones I have ever had!! They each are from two different wireless carriers, but both have amazing service and reception. The only complaint I have is with the Blackberry Style, it does not show me a voicemail icon if I have messages, so any time I miss a call I have to check. It also shows me that I have notifications but when I click on it it tells me no new notifications. I have taken it in for service but even the technicians can't figure it out. But even with those two problems I LOVE IT!! view more

How many people can say they love there ...

I absolutely love my phone. I use a pay as you go plan and I recently had to let my phone plan go for a couple of months due to lack of funds. However, the nice thing about it was I was still able to use my phone without service for many things. I was still able to use it for organization and I used the GPS on it daily to go geocaching. I could still take pictures and videos. It was so nice to have a phone that was still useful without service. I did get my service restored this month and now I am even happier. view more

Blackberry - Blackberry - an honest review

Blackberry - an honest review

I sat down over a month ago and tried to write a review about Blackberry operating system by RIM (Research In Motion)... to no avail. It was pointless. I kept getting two to three paragraphs in and erasing everything I had, only to start over and write the exact same thing. What those two to three paragraphs kept boiling down to was this: Blackberry operating system, although innovative at one time, is outdated. Well here's what I did eventually come up with. Read more for the full story. Let's get one thing straight first... I'm not saying that Blackberry can never make a come-back. They could. They'd just have to change, well, everything about the way they make phones. They have chosen, for the last several years (since the release of the iPhone) to go in a different direction than the iPhone and create something that is completely work oriented. That is all fine and dandy... that is, for the people who want that. But public opinion has told us that is not what most people want. They want something that is easy to use (Blackberry is anything but), has games on it (besides Oregon Trail and solitaire), has a good camera (the best to-date I've experienced is a 5 MP with a flash that takes pictures that are even more horrible than the iPhone 4), and a large touchscreen (keyboard with real buttons has become optional and unnecessary for most people). Instead what we see is a phone that has largely unchanged for the last 10 years. It has become thinner (kinda), smaller (kinda) and they've changed from the wretchedly designed trackball to a little bit less wretchedly designed "trackpad." And that keyboard? Still pretty much the same. The screen? Still tiny in most cases. Even the Blackberry Torch only touts a 3.2" touchscreen. In a world where all touch-screen phones with 4.3" screens rule the market, it is laughable. So what am I getting at? Am I calling Blackberry's demise right here, right now? No. Definitely not. They've been around a long time and I believe they will continue to hang on for quite some time. I, however, am a good representation of a post-Blackberry phone era that is developing. When I see that QWERTY keyboard with a small screen perched on top, sandwiching a trackball or trackpad, I don't get the same nostalgic effect that someone ten years older than me gets when they see that design. I actually despise it. To me, it's what old people use. I picture a working professional with gray hair in the twilight of his career sporting a Blackberry in the bar after work talking about the good ol' days before I picture a high-schooler ever owning one (by choice). I also don't think I'm alone. Now, Blackberry has enough of a following in countries where there is no competition to hold them afloat long enough to develop something worth while for the countries where there is. With Apple just announcing their new iPhone 4S today and the recent release of the Galaxy S II in the United States on three major carriers, not to mention the still freshly-announced "superphones" bearing Windows 7.5 (Mango) on the horizon, Blackberry has their work cut-out for them just to remain profitable, and even more so to remain relevant. In a four-horse race between themselves, iPhone, Windows 7, and Android, they continue to lose market share in the areas that it counts and are plagued by bad story after bad story (those words are all separate links, and paint a very accurate description of what Blackberry is experiencing right now). So how is Blackberry going to remain relevant to an entire generation and remain profitable? Enter: QNX Screenshot of QNX software operating on a Blackberry Playbook QNX is a software company that was aquired by RIM back in August of 2010. Since then, it has been a dormant dream of Blackberry loyalists wanting more from their phones. There is no actual evidence that if Blackberry starts using this operating system on their phones that it will be successful. Most stories point to Q1 2012 before we even see the release of the first QNX smartphone, and even then, it is apparently going to be "rushed." The only thing we've seen so far running Blackberry's rendition of QNX software is the Blackberry Playbook tablet and we all know how that is going. There is a great opinion article here stating that QNX phones will be awesome and why they will be so awesome. I agree with it... as long as several criteria are met first. 1. Blackberry must take the time needed to make it's first QNX phone a worth-while investment for consumers. In my humble opinion, Windows Phone 7 did a horrible job at this. They released an operating system that was limited in several ways where other phone operating systems were not. Only now is Windows 7.5 (Mango) out making it a serious player and an amazing operating system, but consumers who have already tasted Windows 7 without the sweet taste of Mango added have come away with a bad taste in their mouth and are itching to get back to an iPhone or Android phone. RIM must not follow in those footsteps and rush it's first QNX phone to market just to get it there! It has done this all-too-often with other smartphones (the Torch and the Storm) and with awful results. Please, make the first QNX phone worth-while to modern-day consumers. 2. Make the first QNX smartphone magnificent and different from the norm (RIM's norm, that is). Blackberry is really good at the small screen and keyboard phone. Make this phone revolutionary and have it be an all-touch-screen phone that is easy to use. Throw the "must have an amazing battery life and be great at e-mail" mentality that is all-so-typical with RIM out the window and let loose a little. My hope for RIM is that they will now effectively have two operating systems: Blackberry and QNX. Blackberry can remain what it is; a phone for working professionals. QNX should be for everyone else and should be new, fun, and easy-to-use. I truly believe that if RIM uses QNX in this way they can turn the company around. They were, at one time, innovative and new. They aren't anymore, but that doesn't mean that can't be again. Until then, I remain unimpressed and severely disappointed. view more

  Blackberry - Burnt out Blackberry

Burnt out Blackberry

11 months ago I jumped on the Blackberry bandwagon and have been attempting technology suicide ever since. I am a Blackberry Curve 8520 owner, and am only half happy with my 3 year contract choice. The pro's - I do like the layout of this phone. I like the BBM feature (even though I only have 3 contacts). I like the email features compared to most phones, and am a fan of the task scheduling that can be done. All around I find it is a great business phone.. HOWEVER The cons - and really, I only have one. The OS. Since the day I got my phone it has froze up more times then I care to count, deleted my stuff "magically" and just plain not worked when I needed it the most. Many people that have this issue with their phones are avid App downloaders, I however, am not. I keep my phone up to date with updates yet the problem persists. I have talked to many others with the same issues as me, so I guess I'm not alone in this battle. Overall, if my phone would stop freezing, I'd rate it at 5 stars. These phones DO have amazing potential. Here's to hoping I don't kill mine "accidentally" before my 3 year term is up! view more

Blackberry - Great for business/contacts but outdated

Great for business/contacts but outdated

I've had my Blackberry Curve 8330 for two years now. There are some things I love about it, such as BB Messenger, the address book, the easily searchable contacts, and the ability to use the device as a universal USB drive to easily put new ring tones on the phone straight from my computer. But the Blackberry software is seriously out-dated. While smart-phones like iPhone and Android have introduced great mobile browsing, responsive touch screens and tons of easy to use apps, Blackberry has remained stagnant. Hopefully the BB brand can recover but I will be upgrading soon to a bigger and better smart-phone- after all, with minimum $30 a month data charges, I want to get the most out of my phone that I possibly can. view more

I am an addict!

Hi, my name is Calliope09 and I'm a Blackberry addict. I just upgraded from a basic cell phone to a Blackberry Bold in January of this year and I am seriously addicted to all the amazing things I can do on my smartphone. My husband works outdoors so every morning I use the Weather Network app for him. My toddler loves to play KiddoPlus flash cards and I play Hangman and Sudoko on a regular basis. Blackberry lets me keep track of appointments and important dates, quickly take and share photos and video with my contacts and manage my bank account. I'm not sure how I managed to live for so long without it but I wouldn't give up my Bold for anything right now. view more

Blackberry - My Blackberry is well loved.

My Blackberry is well loved.

I have had my Blackberry for over a year now and I have definitely loved it. My main reason for getting a Blackberry was because my best friend begged and begged for me to have one. I caved and bought one. My primary use was Blackberry Messenger and texting, as well as Google Talk IM. While I love Blackberry, I will honestly say that I won't be getting another Blackberry for a while. My father has an Android OS, as do many of the people I know, and Blackberry can't even begin to compare to Android. The apps are super limited in comparison, and to those who, like me, are more for the social networking than business/organizational uses of a phone, it doesn't meet the right requirements. When/if Blackberry gets more apps that aren't mostly geared towards businesses/business people, I would definitely consider it again. I do love Blackberry Messenger, I've never yet found anything as wonderful, but considering the one person I used it with doesn't have a Blackberry anymore, it isn't my personal choice. In review, I would recommend a Blackberry to someone who is looking for practicality, organization, business use, professional use, etc. To those who want social networking and internet/app use, I'd suggest going Android. view more

Not great, but it was free

After hearing for years that I simply had to get a Blackberry, I finally gave in, mainly because it was one of only 4 of the free options when I was eligible to upgrade that was a flip phone (too much butt-dialing with my old phone). Although the visuals are great, the phone is kind of irritating to use. The keys are too close together, so I am constantly making mistakes, the mouse isn't precise, it takes a long time to enter things that only required a few quick steps on previous phones, and I generally think the location of things is weird.   Blackberry - Blackberry 8330

Blackberry 8330

I have a slightly older version of the Blackberry 8330 and I love it and hate it all at the same time. I love having a smartphone with a full keyboard that isn't touchscreen and doesn't slide. However, I've had a few problems with it. First the chraging port came broke and actually started to come out of the phone so I couldn't charge it, and it wasn't fixable, so I had to get a new one. Also, at least once a week it decides to just restart randomly, which can be kind of annoying when I'm having a text conversation because it takes a few mintues to come back on. So overall, I like the Blackberry, just beware because it may have a few problems. I'd recommend you get insurance for the phone with your carrier. view more

I got my Blackberry Tour 2 years ago. I was always the type that just wanted a cell phone to make calls and that was it. But being a new RN fresh out of nursing school, I wanted a phone that would allow me to store drug information and lab values that wouldn't be something extra to tote around. So I chose the BB Tour. If it wasn't for BBM I would leave blackberry in a second! Their OS is still painfully underpowered even though the new one is much better than the old one, but it lacks the usability of android or IOS. Yes the keyboard is great but wouldn't it be wonderful if they made a landscape, slide-out keyboard hidden under a 3.5 inch touch screen that didn't suck?   Blackberry - So many Smartphones to choose from

So many Smartphones to choose from

For about a year I treated myself to my first Blackberry, the Storm. It definitely made life way more convenient, but at some point I decided that it wasn't really worth an extra 30 bucks a month. Using a regular cell phone, I can check my email if I'm expecting something important, or search the internet if I need. It's definitely not as convenient, but it's way cheaper. While 30 a month might not seem like a lot, it for sure adds up over time. That said, I'm back to being a Blackberry user since I have one through work. If I did decide to purchase another smartphone for personal use in the future, I'm not sure if it would be a Blackberry (though that used to be a given!). Between Android and iPhone, Blackberry just doesn't seem to match up like it used to. view more

i couldn't live without my blackberry - BUT I recently lost my H key and you have to get a whole new phone - good thing I was eligible for an upgrade. I am so glad they got rid of the track ball! I love the apps and the ease of working it! view more

  Blackberry - So torn!

So torn!

I have had Blackberry's since 2005. As much as it's my lifeline and I am totally addicted. It has it's pitfalls, sometimes I look at my phone (let me just say I get new one's all the time and update my software) and there is an hourglass that goes on until I take the battery out and reset it. If I wasn't so use to Blackberry's I would really like to go to another type of phone (ie Android). However, I know how to use them, fix them and it's convenient for work. view more
