Worst Bank in America

If you have or plan to get an account here. Please do not do it. This is by far the most greedy, untrustworthy and decietful bank in America. I am shocked they are able to hold the name. They will drain every penny you ever attempt to put in the bank.
Fees are outrageous and unfair, Its no wonder this company can support so many pro teams and hundreds of other things, They take everyone money. I have no doubt that this company will seek some type of help from the government.
On top of this, they hire some rude and incosiderate people. These service reps, I actually think have to hate people to get hired. I wish I could this bank a negative 5 stars. i will never do any business with this bank, Even if they paid me to be a customer i would refuse. view more

Not user friendly

I am a former customer who luckily escaped BofA years ago, but became dismayed by the the recent fee increase on debit cards for their customers. Add on a six dollar fee on non customer single check cashing, and it's easy to see why this bank has gone down so far in favor. only a masochist would do business with this bank. view more

Not very happy!

I have been with Bank of America for quite some time now. At first I liked them. I like the bill pay and other features. It also is convenient for me because I have ALL my accounts through them, including mortgage. But I am not too happy with them anymore. Their customer service is horrible. They really don't care about their customers. I have had several issues with them the last couple years. And now they are going to start charging their customers a $5 monthly fee to you their debit card. This make me angry because they are making a ton of money off of me already from my mortgage and credit card. I plan to move everything soon! view more

Bank of America is not customer friendly

BofA has been around a long time but when we got our business account there we found that they had a lot of limiting rules and many fees that made it not competitive with other banks. We switched banks. BofA is also in the news a lot for some stories regarding mortgages. This makes me not want to be associated with it. view more

Good Bank To Have

Ive had bank of america debit and savings account for years now and i love the bank. The customer service is awesome, they are really nice and helpful. I really love the fact that you dont have to wait till they open to deposit money, you just use an ATM and i also love that they have the option of chatting with a person online so you dont even have to leave the house or pick up the phone. I would reccomend this bank just because they are good and havent done me or my family wrong. view more

BOA has your back

Bank of America has been great, one of my cards was compromised and used in another state where I couldn't have been, they immediately recognized odd charges and stopped my card. Called me immediately to tell me then reversed the charges and issued me a new card. no fighting no hassle. view more

Not happy at all

I have had BoA since they bought out my prior card issuer. I have never been happy with their service. I had made two late payments prior to them taking over the card, and that was used as justification for their refusal to lower my APR, despite the fact that the late pays were several years prior and I hadn't missed a payment since. It was so infuriating that I closed the account. It's taken me a long time to pay it down, but I'm almost paid off. I will never deal with them again. view more

Bank of America - No Thanks - No Stars, ...

I have been a Bank of America customer for nearly 20 years by default. I started at Bank Boston, which was absorbed by Fleet, which was absorbed by Bank of America. As Bank of America has grown, it's policies have become more and more geared toward the favor of those of very high income and corporations. Middle income schmucks such as myself have no place there. They arbitrarily took away my overdraft protection (even though I rarely, if ever, had cause for it) and now I've received a letter stating that I do not meet the minimum monthly direct deposit amount, and will therefore incur a $15 monthly surcharge. Call me crazy, but why would I want $15 extra debt per month as a penalty for not having a job that can pay me as much as Bank of America wants me to earn? I am better off stashing cash under my mattress. This will surely result in a class action suit, but my money will be gone from that bank before that can happen. Shame on you for not looking after the little people, Bank of America. That is the opposite of what your name implies. view more

I Hate Bank of America

I banked with Bank of America for several years, suffering through one negative interaction with employees after another...and not because I was a bad customer. I never overdrew my account or caused a scene, but I still hated going to this bank and dreaded doing so each time. The employees were rude, crude, and entirely unhelpful. Everyone at this bank could use a refresher course in customer service. view more

Wish there was a no star option

After getting absorbed into Bank of America via my (now defunct) Fleet account, I figured I would give them a try. Yes, they have lots of ATM locations. Yes, most of the accounts are (initially!) no-fee. But that's where the good marks end.
Horrible customer service both in-branch and on the phone, non-existent customer loyalty and/or good customer perks, laughable rewards programs, and totally inflexible and under-trained staff.
Stay away. view more

Meh

I have had my account for about three years and it is pretty good. I hate that they take out $10 randomly. It is never once per month. Checks are easy to cash at ATMs and the money goes in instantly. No lines to stand in. Great bank but really hate the random taking of my money. view more

Too Big of a Bank

Bank of America is way too big of a bank for me! I feel like a number and that they don't care if I stay, or go. Too many extra fees. Loan department takes way too long to close, and if you call the 1-800 # they say everyone's approved! view more

Bank of america

I've been with this bank for a few yeArs now (my primary is with a credit union) and have had zero problems with them. It seems like other people have, but they were great whe. It came to changing my name and I think their mobile banking is great. There are ATMs just about everywhere so I don't have to worry about fees. I'll definitely stay with them! view more

Not An Honest Bank

I opened up my first checking and savings account at BofA when I turned 18. At some point, they started charging my checking account a monthly maintenance fee every single month. I had to go in there each month to ask that the fee be taken off and they promised the fee would not reappear the following month, however that was never the case. Each month, I continued to go in and get the same promise and they never came through. I finally closed my accounts with them and went to a different bank that I like much better. view more

I hope they go down in flames

How is it that these bloodsuckers are still in business after ripping off customers for years? After taking a huge payout from the government, you'd think they would return the favor and work with homeowners to modify their loans. Instead, they've fallen into the same pattern: Promising to be fair in the modification review process, claiming they never got your paperwork, then making an offer to the owner via phone for a monthly payment w/ no guarantees of an actual modification, and then comes the eviction. At this point these foreclosures are a convenient tax deduction for a failing business. I say we all take our money out and put it into credit unions. view more

No Longer A Customer

I had been a loyal bank of america customer for many years. I always paid my bills in full before they were due and in return they added hidden fees and without even notifying me they completely changed my credit card. Their "rewards" program is also a joke.
When I called to cancel they transferred me repeatedly and I was put on hold for hours. I am finally done with them. view more

Not a Fan of BofA

I've been a customer of Bank of America for almost 9 years now and I feel that they are getting worse and worse. My biggest complaint are the fees and how they process your deposits. It seems like they are allowed to pick and choose when purchases hit and when deposits hit. I don't like that at all. My husband and I are thinking of switching banks. The only reason we haven't yet is because it's a slight hassle. view more

Bank of America Upromise Mastercard

We were members of Upromise to start saving money for our children's college education, and decided to sign up for the Upromise Mastercard to increase our savings. The card is through Bank of America, so we had to go through them. So far, we haven't had any problems. BoA is not my favorite bank, but so far so good. We won't be switching everything to them, but no problems so far. view more

They do a good job

So, I just had to put in my 2 cents here. I've been with Bank of America since 2007, and sure I've had my problems with them, but on the most part, they do a good job. Sure their fees do go up, but you do get notified. Check the inserts in your statements. If you get paperless statements, you can still get that info in your online banking. Did you know that if you are unemployed, you can have up to 5 overdraft fees reversed in the year? Just make sure when you call them you tell them that it is because of your unemployment payment being late. Since I use the online banking, I no longer carry around a check book. I pay 99% of my bills through the online banking bill pay. the other 1% gets the debit card. Someone made a fraudulent purchase online with my debit card, and I caught it right away because I have my online account settings set to email me anytime a purchase is made online or over the phone. When I called in, Sure, I had to wait a long time (why they lost a star from me), but every customer service agent I spoke to was courteous (even the one who had a hard time hearing me. So, yes, I will continue banking with them for the foreseeable future. view more

Do not use this Bank!!!

Do not use this bank!! This is the most dishonest and hard to deal with bank I have ever seen. Their fees are always going up (without telling me). And their customer service people are absolutely useless. There ATMs are always out of service. I am currently in the process of switching from Bank of America to a small local bank in my home town.
