I am glad that I do have the internet, but I wish I had more companies that serviced where I live. I'm stuck with AT&T. I signed up for the $14.95 a month. The first 3 or 4 months I was charged $30 plus a month. I would call and they would tell me that it will be the right price after a few more months. Then, a month later someone tells me to get that price I have to be on the auto pay thing. Then, a few more months and someone else tells me I never qualified for the $14.95 a month. So, they trick you to get you in, then switch. That one commercial where they talk about the bait & switch reminds me of what they have done to me. They didn't even care what they put me through stress wise and time wise, either. If I ever can get away from them, I will never have service with them again. I hope that they go out of business to be honest. I don't like liars or cheats. view more

My Relationship with AT&T

I have not had any experiences with their TV or Internet service so this review is based off of their cell phone service only. I have been with AT&T since 2004, and I have loved it ever since. Their customer service is very helpful, as I have had to call them a few times about questions about my phones over the years. Each of the representatives have always been helpful, considerate, and very easy to talk to. When it comes to cell phone service, I rarely lose service anywhere unless I am way up north in the woods. The representatives that I have dealt with at various AT&T stores have also been very helpful and professional every time. view more

We switched over to AT&T for cell phone service 5 years ago. We now use them for wireless internet as well.. We had been with Verizon for 15yrs and got tired of the crappy customer service.. AT&T has been very good to us.. Any time I have called to have my account changed , I always have someone on the other end is nice, someone I can cleary understand, they always look over my accont to see if I can save money.. We also use AT&T for our wireless internet with aircards and thru our phones.. The aircards are a little more pricey than others but I know that I can get ahold of someone who will listen to what I have to say and fix any problems, unlike other companies.. For me customer service is important and if a compnay can't provide that I will look elsewhere for service.. view more

After ten years with AT&T I finally switched to Verizon. AT&T has not be loyal to me, a long standing, always paid my expensive bill on time customer. I think I had kind of accepted the dropped calls and the spotty service as part of the package with AT&T but couldn't be happier now that I have switched to Verizon. The nail on the coffin was after being in a contract for 18 months with AT&T my iPhone 3GS (not under warranty) suffered water damage. I called AT&T and explained my situation. I was very close (4 months) to my upgrade date and asked if there was anything they could do. They said no, nothing. I then asked them what is the cheapest phone available, just a filler phone for 4 months (not a smart phone) that would tide me over until I could upgrade in a few months. AT&T informed me that the cheapest phone they could offer me was over $200. I think asked about their contract cancellation. It was a base fee minus X amount for how many months I had been a subscriber. When I did the math it was WAY cheaper to cancel and go with Verizon and get a brand new iPhone 4 then stay with AT&T. I explained this to the AT&T representative to see if AT&T had any interest in retaining customers. They do not. I hung up the phone, walked down the street to Verizon and walked out in less than 30 minutes with a brand new iPhone 4 and a transferred number. And now I have service on the subway. AT&T should think about customer loyalty! view more

Im not one to rate a company or service very low, but at&t or as I call it AT&Terrible is horrible. I had the internet service and land line. With the phone line you could barely hear anything. The internet is the one that really bugs me. It drops a lot. Lately its even been dropping more than usual. I called a couple of times and they cant seem to figure out what was wrong. I was told my service was U-verse, but according to someone else I spoke it, U-verse was not available in my area. That didnt really bother me. Its just the unreliable service that bugs the hell out of me. The customer service is lousy as well. Not all of them, but majority of them apparently never payed attention in training when they defined what "customer services was"...lol. I really wouldn't recommend the service to anyone. I m gonna try time Warner n see how that fairs out. view more

can you say service sucks, and rates are ridiculous, and now that t mobile is merging with them every friend that has tmobile can't have a conversation for more than two mins without a dropped call, and i am constantly in and out of service, constant phone calls to a haywire line that has to be redialed. ATT was actually my first phone service provider when I got my first cellphone at 12, I left them for a while but came back in 2007 because their service is great for the price. My calls are dropped everyone in a while but never enough to bother me. Sometimes they do over charge on the bill but they always work their mistakes out with no problems and sometimes compensation. view more

The prices sometimes are a little higher which is something i hate but i just never switch to anything else because i have been there so long. I had their internet and home phone and the prices on those are pretty average. All in all AT&T is a good company. view more

I have used ATT for a long time and I have generally been happy as a customer, although I have found that their customer service representatives that you call on the phone (611 number), are never any help. If you have problems or need help, go to your local store and they will do a much better job at meeting your needs. When you call you get a different answer every time and half the time they have no idea how to help you. Fair prices and I like the rollover minutes that you can use. view more

I have personally been with ATT since 2000. They provided me with my first cell phone. Now they not only provide my cell service but my home, dsl, and satellite (DirecTV.) I have not had any issues or major complaint with this company. I have bought games/ringtones and not liked them so they have removed charges for those because of my dislike. They have given me tons of credits that were not a "have to" and I am very grateful. I highly recommend ATT, they have treated me well and hopefully they will treat you kind too. view more

I have to say I have been with AT&T for over 10 years now from when they changed to Cingular and then back to at&t. The service as good back then and now it really is getting bad, but they are getting somewhat better. I can be in the phone and it drops or I get cut out and then back in. It used to be certain areas but it is not that way always. I have reception in the house but only in areas of it. Some areas it will not connect even when I have a few bars. I thought it might be the iPhone but it does the same on my wife?s phone. I love my iPhone 4 and it works like a champ but it is just the service. The only reason I stay it to be able to do more than one thing while on the phone. I sure hope they get better coverage with the new equipment they are putting in place with the 4g as the Dallas area is among the first areas getting it, just need the iPhone to catch up with the 4g service now. view more

I love my iPhone, not thrilled with the amount of calls that I drop on AT&T's network but it has definitely improved since I started with them in 2009. Every time I go into a store, I am greeted and have a very pleasant experience. I also opened up a business line for the company I work for and they added in several free phones. When I first signed up I thought it was going to be a great deal! 14.95 per month for high speed internet was do able! The bad news came with the first bill, then the second! I have called in multiple times to complain and have my account credited because they are charging almost $50!! What a great promotional idea, its a shame to waste it with bad customer service reps. I have to say this is the worst all around service I have ever tried. I was an Alltel customer and their service could be poor at times. I figured with the new switch things would change, I was not impressed. My phone does not work, the service is choppy and the customer service is appalling. I tried to cancel 3 times, each time they tried to talk me out of it or had to hang up and "return my call later" which was difficult because I did not have a phone. When I did cancel they asked me to pass on my old phone and number to a friend or family member - I told them I would never again recommend their service and returned the phone to them. I am not on the Walmart StraightTalk plan and I love it! view more

Just make sure that it is not raining, there are no trees near the dish area, and you study up on wiring your house! Ok maybe not. Not a great investment (and I do mean investment $$$). After the rep repeatedly comes out and installs the disk (3rd time is a charm) they call you at least 4 times a day asking if you want to upgrade to Uverse. Got tired of the phone calls so I took the bait. After 2 installers came out, I finally find out that they cannot set up Uverse (shocker) and that I need to install this new set of wiring that is on pause indefinitely. Puh-lease, I'd rather deal with Comcast's poor billing. Buyer Beware. view more

I have my plan and just use it for the basic stuff, like calling and texting. I assure you that once our contract is up for renewal, we will be going down to a single plan for my husband only, and I will be getting a landline. It's just not worth the kind of money you pay. And god forbid if you ever go over your minute or text message allotment. I believe it's 20 cents per text and 40 cents per minute, which is highway robbery. I'm half wondering if a "pay as you go" phone is a better way to go than a locked in contract. I still think it's a fairly decent company despite all that, and my husband will probably be staying with them, but they just want way too much out of their customers. view more

So I have AT&T phone and internet service, and it's alright. My phone does what I need it to text and call, but my internet on the phone doesn't work and I always lose signal. Now the internet is the terrible part. It is so slow and goes our all the time. We have had to buy 3 routers. Before AT&T I had AOL dial up so I know what slow is, so when we switched at first I was pleased, but know I realize it's still not fast enough. view more

Every month I have had an issue with AT&T for some reason or another. I live in a very rural area and this is the only internet provider, so therefore I am STUCK with them. Their customer service is something to be desired. I've been hung up on, laughed at, disrespected by this company. With all the problems that I have had out of AT&T never once have they said sorry, or offered a credit on any of my bills. Also my internet bill was due on the 5th, I called in told them I would be paying on the 8th...they told me fine. So I wake up on the 8th, try to get online to pay the bill only to find my internet had been dc after being only THREE DAYS late!!!!!, not only that I spent an hr on the phone trying to get it turned back on, after being transferred 6-7times I was finally able to get someone to help me. The problem was on their end with their computer systems (at least that's what they told me) I paid my bill & after 6hrs my service was restored. I was then told that I would probably (couldn't tell me for certain) be charged a $30-$35 reconnect charge. If you have the option, don't choose at&t. view more

Well let me say that I started with Verizon and while it was okay I find that AT&T is much nicer to work with (as far as guest services) and has far better connection speeds. I never had a problem with my phone service and internet were through Bellsouth. But then came AT&T. They have crappy customer service and even crappier tech support...unless you like your tech support from India. Well, now I have one more reason for hating AT&T. I just found out that on May 2, 2011 AT&T is planning to implement bandwidth caps on their dsl customers. I found out on the internet. AT&T hasn't even sent me anything tell about the change. I used their customer support live chat to ask about this change and was LIED to. The agent told me that it was a law implemented by the FCC. I contacted the FCC and there is no law that requires any ISP provider to cap your bandwidth. Needless to say if I had any other options I would cancel AT&T. Alas, I have no other options. I have contacted the BBB , though there is no word back from AT&T about that yet. view more

AT&T is by far the worst service all around both customer care and service. Yeah their service reps are kind and friendly, however they will NOT be very helpful as far as a solution. The network is indeed very fast. However it's the most UNRELIABLE out there! You cannot count the number of dropped calls on your fingers. And AT&T will NOT say it's their network at all. For the price you'll pay, You'd better have an excellent savings account to pay for it because you'll be wasting money from the start. view more

I am absolutely fed up with AT&T as my internet provider. I see why they charge half of what cable wants. I get what I pay for. I do not have cable. We watch shows online. In the time it takes me to watch an hour long tv show which is actually a little over 45 minutes long, the internet will drop at least 4-5 times. I've called and asked about it and get that I don't need a filter because I don't have a landline service. When I was living with others in this same residence using the same modem I'm using now and we did have a landline phone the excuse was that the phone lines in the area are old and that is what was causing the static in the phone line and why our internet service dropped so much. Now that the bill is in my name and there is no landline service there is another excuse as to why this keeps happening. When my contract is up I am switching back to cable and will gladly pay more. At least then I will get all that I'm paying for. view more

AT&T is the phone company i use and it works great in my opinion. alot of my friends are on verison and they have to add me to thier family plan in order to text me for free, AT&T isn't like that. you can text anyone you want on any network and it will cost the same. view more

I have great service even in my house and never seem to have problems with dropped calls. I received some threatening calls today. I called AT&T to help and block the number as some of these calls have been answered by my very young children. Apparently someone gave my number to someone "so they could avoid a phone call" and now I'm getting harassed because the person they are looking for doesn't live here. Anyway after being called several nasty words & told they were going to kill me, AT&T told me they couldn't do anything for me including blocking the one number that's calling me without a fee. That's not what I call help, caring about their customers or anything. That is greedy people who don't care about anything but money. view more

Why Would They Do This To Customers?

I've had my BlackBerry Curve since January of this year. Three weeks ago, AT&T sent me a text saying that all "smartphones" not require a data plan. Two minutes later, they sent me another text saying that they've added my phone to their $25 a month data plan. I was extremely upset and angry at AT&T and their decision to do this. The behavior with which they handled it is terrible too. Since I am not available for an upgrade, I cannot switch to another full keyboard phone (or touch phone) unless I have $200+. I cannot afford to pay that much right now, so I'm stuck paying $25 a month for CRAPPY internet that I did not want. I can't believe they are treating their customers like this. I don't think I can switch to another cellphone provider because I'm locked into AT&T's U-verse plan which includes internet, tv, and phone service. I think I may call and complain because this is very disheartening, especially when I can hardly afford the $25 extra a month. view more
