New Nourishing Lipbalm

Alima - New Nourishing Lipbalm alima pure's Nourishing Lipbalm is new, and is not actually out yet. I am very excited to be trying to first hand and sharing my experience with you! I really like these lipbalms. The tinted ones show quite a bit of color even when you apply them. I didn't take a photo of me actually wearing one; only because it's actually late right now. I did do some swatches though. The balm itself is a little buttery so you don't need to press hard at all to apply it. The only thing I don't like is that when you try to screw the bottom back - to make the balm go back down, sometimes it won't go back down all the way. In that case, you have screw it back, to where it starts coming up more, then gently put your finger on the balm and gently press down while screwing the bottom back. Also, be sure to pull the actual lid off and try to pull the screw bottom off (lol).. I thought the lid was the bigger end, but it's not. The cap is the small end, but when I tried pulling the bottom off, apparently I twisted it (I don't know how), and some of the balm went up into the lid. You can actually tell which one it happened to; the Natural one , haha. But that's okay, it didn't take much. One thing that I have noticed with buttery lipbalms is that you should have clean, smooth lips. Make sure you don't have any chapped areas or dry skin. If you do, use a lip scrub first. If you don't, you can feel every little imperfection on your lip. It makes me feel like I have sand on my lips. Now this is not just with alima pure lip balms. This is with any buttery lip balms. These balms give a small minty feeling after applying. I noticed it right away and I love it. Holly Berry is more of a darkish red, Natural, is well, natural, Rhubarb is a peachy color or apricot, Fig is a brownish color. view more

I received the 4 colors from the Rain Forest collection to review. The colors are - Bromeliad - a sparkling light green to refresh your spring color palette Jaguar - a slinky, golden-brown shimmer that pairs with everything Macaw - as vibrant as the tropical bird - light shimmering teal Kapok - a deep, dark brown sparkle to bring depth to your look I really liked these colors. My favorites is Macaw. It is a very pretty blueish green. I usually never think of browns being 'pretty' but Jaguar is.. I love that color a lot as well. And they are defiantly right; it can pair with everything. These eyeshadows are decently pigmented and pretty shimmery. These color would be great for wearing on Earth Day. Actually, that is why alima pure created the Rainforest Collection. The wanted to honor the day, so they came out with this collection. The collection is available for a limited time and $2 from each collection will be donated to the Rainforest Action Network! "Exotic Look Apply Bromeliad to the lid, and Macaw to the crease and outer lid. Add a touch of Kapok at the outer corner, and line upper lashes with Kapok on a damp brush. With a dry brush, apply any of the shades to your lower lashes. Natural Look Apply Kapok in the crease and outer corner. With a damp brush apply Bromeliad or Macaw to the upper lash line. Add the tiniest bit of Kapok wiggled into the lash line with a damp brush to create the look of fuller lashes." I didn't do either of these looks but I think my look is more exotic, rather then natural. I used a combination of 3 of the colors. I used Jaguar on the top half of my lid and faded it inwards, I used Bromeliad in the crease, and Macaw right above my lash line. view more

I've been using this tinted balm for years. I use a more moisturizing balm under it then dot the Alima balm on top and blend. I love the color payoff it's natural and not heavy, doesn't settle into lips and has no unbearable scent. view more

This was my absolute favorite mineral foundation (when I was using mineral makeup). Not only does Alima offer great makeup, they also have exceptional customer service. Ask the Artist allows you to ask questions about color matching, color recommendations, etc. Shipping was also very reasonable. I also love that they have Pure Points system. Kudos to Alima for using the green-approach to makeup. Oh, and who can forget about their cute packaging? :) view more

Alima is a great natural mineral company that offers an amazing selection of foundations, eyeshadows, blushes, and liners. The foundations are super finely milled, so they feel smoother than most powders. They are a good company to try if you are fair, as their foundations run a little lighter than many. Their blushes are intensely pigmented and you need just a few specks to get a good flush. Their eyeshadows are pretty, especially the non-matte ones, but you should use a wet brush to apply them or they are incredibly sheer. view more

This is by far my favorite mineral foundation. They have every color under the sun, easy to find a match, offer samples to buy so you don't have to buy a full sized product and it not work for you. The foundation goes on smooth, matte and makes my skin look flawless. They also have outstanding customer service- I get my products with in a week, when I had one issue- they resloved it right away.
