Is the Future of Marketing Soft or Crispy?

To find out, you need to witness the BzzAgent Tacopocalypse on Sept 14.

The Tacopocalpyse is just what it sounds like. It’s a massive taco-themed party with a dozen styles of tacos, a hot sauce bar, and taco desserts.

This is one of the great events BzzAgent is running at the FutureM conference this year. FutureM, the week-long interactive marketing event run by MITX here in Boston, will be back for another glorious run from Sept 12-16. FutureM brings the community together to contemplate and celebrate the future of marketing.

Last year’s week-long event drew about 3,000 people to over 50 events. Based on some of the bzz we’re hearing around town, this year might be even bigger.

BzzAgent is going to be all over this thing… especially on the evening of the 14th. Here’s what we got going on:

TACOPOCALYPSE!

Boston’s never seen a taco party quite like this. Chow down on a dozen different types of tacos, keep your cool at the hot sauce bar and indulge in the choco-taco dessert bar. Join other FutureM attendees for a night of food, music, games and a few other surprises.

Drinks with the CEO

Pull up a barstool and share a drink with several local CEOs who have built and sold companies in this economy. These CEOs won’t be hiding behind marketing Powerpoint presentations -we’re  getting them out of the office and putting a beer in their hands so they can talk informally and candidly about growing and selling a business. They’ll share what worked, what didn’t, and what they learned that helped them find a buyer and achieve their dream.

Marketing to Moms? Then Market with Social Media.

BzzAgent was excited to be a sponsor of  M2Moms – The Marketing to Moms Conference in Chicago last week.  It was a great event with outstanding speakers, a lot of interesting discussions, and a more than a few inspiring moments.  For an incredibly moving cause, take a look at what the Jack & Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation is doing to provide memorable vacation experiences to families about to lose a parent to cancer. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room during this presentation.

Moms are a big part of the BzzAgent network.  Here is a short video case study we created to showcase the success of our recent mom word of mouth campaign promoting the launch of the movie “Babies”.

Dave Balter on What’s Next & What’s Best

The 2010 WOMMA Summit is just around the corner.  This year’s event will be held from November 17-19 at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas.  There will be over 50 educational session including keynotes from Josh Bernoff of Forrester Research and author of the new book “Empowered”, and from Jeremiah Owyang of the Altimeter Group.

BzzAgent has obtained exclusive video footage from the Monsters of Pork party last week.   If you missed the party, this is your chance to get a look at one of the most unique networking events you’ll ever see.

Monsters of Pork was part of BzzAgent’s sponsorship of FutureM week here in Boston.  Many told us it was one of the highlights of the week and we are excited about all the buzz it generated.  As you’ll see in Dave Balter’s opening remarks in the video below, Boston has a great innovation community and we are thrilled to be a part of that ecosystem.

What Do You Think About the Future of Marketing?

BzzAgent’s Dave Balter discussed some of his views on the future of marketing with our friends at the FutureM Conference. You can read the interview and share your thoughts here or on the FutureM event blog.

What role has technology played in shaping the transformation of the marketing industry?
Direct access to consumers.  Previously, engaging with your customer base was a 2-dimensional exercise.  You had an address database and sent postcards and catalogs or an email list and sent offers.  Now, it’s a 3-dimensional proposition: your customers are communicating all around you, via twitter and Facebook and blogs, and thousands of tools have been developed to allow marketers to have direct dialogues.
