One of the reasons BzzAgent and dunnhumby fit so well together is because of the importance placed on company culture (check out our wicked cool office space here) and demonstrating our unique core values everyday. As a dunnhumby company, BzzAgent has been able to pick up some pointers along the way and implement some of our favorites into our own unique company culture.
For example, the dunnhumby culture truly emphasizes giving back to the community. They have a “Helping Hands” volunteer group that is committed to making a difference by fundraising and participating in local events. They have been recognized for two years in a row with The Medical Mutual Pillar Award for Community Service for their Helping Hands program. BzzAgent loved the idea of co-workers and families coming together to help give back, so we collaborated with the Helping Hands team in Cincinnati to form our own chapter right here in Boston.
Our first BzzAgent Helping Hands event was at Courageous Sailing. Courageous transforms lives through sailing programs that inspire learning, personal growth and leadership. Courageous removes barriers to access for all Boston youth, the public and people with physical and intellectual challenges.
To help prepare for the sailing season, BzzAgent got to work. We put on the gloves and filled up our buckets to spend an afternoon preparing the pier and cleaning (otherwise known as mildew scrubbing) the sailboats. It was tough work but it was a great day to be outside and BzzAgent was so happy to be able give back to the community.
